Believe me, I totally understand how hard it is to keep up with all the news in Washington.

While the legislation that funds our VA and military construction is not a perfect bill, it does make real progress.
I’m proud of the bipartisan wins included in the current version of the bill, including my own legislation to ensure oversight of the planning of the El Paso VA Medical Center.
Last week, I was grateful to meet and recognize the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps members who have been deployed to El Paso over the past two months.
These young leaders have stepped up in service supporting the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank with daily operations in feeding hundreds of El Pasoans. Their work makes a real difference for our community and serves as a much-needed reminder of the power of service.
We are proud to highlight our El Paso ISD Fine Arts students and their artwork featured in Congresswoman Veronica Escobar’s Congressional Art Competition.
The exhibit is now open at the El Paso Museum of Art, offering a chance to experience the creativity and talent of our student-artists up close.

This National Police Week, I was proud to welcome several officers from the El Paso Police Department, including Officers Amairani Giner and Mark Perez, to my office in Washington.
After surviving a domestic violence response that ended in an exchange of gunfire, both officers made a full recovery and have continued serving El Paso with courage and dedication. I was honored to recognize their resilience and commitment to keeping our community safe.
Mt. Cristo Rey’s cultural and religious significance is central to our region. Seizing this community asset in order to build a border wall is consistent with the Trump administration’s blatant disregard for what communities like ours value.
There are a number of other ways to provide border security. Instead, the Trump administration prefers to destroy this sacred site.
I support the Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces in their opposition to the federal government’s actions to degrade a site so significant to our shared identity, and have reached out to my New Mexico colleagues so we can collaborate on ways to save this site.
As our manufacturing sector continues to grow, I visited Beaufort/LBT Inc. to check in on their expansion in El Paso, hear directly from their team, and learn more about the job growth and investment happening right here at home.
🚨 I just sent the members of the El Paso Water Public Service Board a letter urging them to adhere to several suggestions to protect and prioritize El Pasoans while ensuring transparency and accountability from data centers.
You can read the letter by visiting the link in my bio.
Last Wednesday, I joined local leaders to break ground on the Advanced Manufacturing District, a $40 million investment supported through President Biden’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge to expand aerospace and advanced manufacturing in our region.
El Paso is building the future right here at home.
This past Friday, I held my 2026 Congressional Art Competition to celebrate the 115 pieces of art from high schoolers across the community.
Every year, I look forward to celebrating the artistry of young people in El Paso. I’m grateful to our partners like the El Paso Museum of Art, the judges, the teachers, the students and their families for their dedication.
I look forward to hosting our winner Anna Paula in Washington soon and showcasing her artwork in our nation’s capital for all to see.
