This week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week — a moment to honor the dedication, creativity, and care teachers bring to our classrooms every day. The long hours, creative problem‑solving, and steady encouragement teachers give help shape futures and build stronger communities. Thank you, teachers — for the lessons, the encouragement, and the countless ways you show up.

It was great to see @mayor_ci at today’s Irvis Day of Action. Events like this showcase the power of community, civic engagement, and the legacy of leaders like K. Leroy Irvis. I’m proud to stand with local leaders committed to moving our region forward.

I was honored to be involved in the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration at the Capitol hosted by Sen. Patty Kim . Our community is one of the most diverse in all of Pennsylvania. It’s a privilege to share in the culture and traditions of our neighbors. It's also wonderful to see their contributions toward the economic growth of our communities with new opportunities and businesses throughout the region.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month — and today we marked it with a powerful press conference that put AAPI voices front and center. Local leaders, advocates, and residents gathered to spotlight community organizations, share upcoming events and offer resources that celebrate AAPI culture and strengthen our neighborhoods.

I’m thrilled to announce that Coronet Park is officially open in downtown Harrisburg! I couldn’t imagine a more meaningful day to open this pocket park than Earth Day — the perfect moment to celebrate a space built on renewal, creativity, and community. Huge thanks to everyone who joined the opening and to the partners who helped bring this vision to life. Come down, enjoy the space, and help make Coronet Park a lively hub for downtown Harrisburg!
