Yesterday, I introduced legislation to rename the Ramona, CA post office in honor of world champion boxer and community service leader Archie Moore. Moore was both a regional and national treasure whose public service and legendary sports accomplishments should never be forgotten. I was joined at this historic event by Moore's children, Billy and J'Marie, along with HUD Regional Administrator William T. Spencer and former Congressman Duncan Hunter Sr.

Reading a book opens a window into discovery, learning and imagination and I am proud to support Second Lady Vance's Summer Reading Challenge. The Second Lady invites all children, grades K-8, to read 12 books this summer. I hope that all students in southern California can join this meaningful and exciting program. #2ndLadySummerReads

My staff recently met with employees of Home Depot stores from across southern California to discuss the importance of tax relief approved in the One Big Beautiful Bill and the need for continued focus to stop rampant retail theft.

This weekend, I attended the historic Lakeside Rodeo, celebrating 61 years of this beloved community tradition and charitable giving to the Lakeside youth. I was proud to recognize the Stadium Association for their longtime contributions to the community, raising over $250,000 for Lakeside Community Youth in the last 7 years.

This week, I welcomed EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to the San Diego region for a tour of the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant and a roundtable discussion to address the ongoing Tijuana sewage crisis. For decades, this environmental disaster has closed San Diego beaches, injured Navy SEALs, and damaged public health. The people of San Diego finally deserve a lasting solution.

Happy 100th birthday to my constituent, friend, and hero: Royce Williams. The best and bravest fighter pilot I ever met and the Secret Soldier of the Korean War. They don’t make them like him anymore.

Last week, I participated in a local farm roundtable discussion with avocado and citrus growers from San Diego and Southwest Riverside County. Joined by a group of local cultivators, agriculture experts, and the California Avocado Commission, I heard about current challenges facing the industry as well as the continued leading market contributions of California growers. During my visit, I toured the Ridge Creek Ranch avocado orchard in Valley Center as part of the listening tour.

Now is the time to make sure government agencies are held accountable to the American people. That’s why the Judiciary committee is taking on the unconstitutional overreach of the administrative state.

Today, my GOP colleagues and I sent a message to Mexico: American sovereignty is non-negotiable. And the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Mexico is undermining our 2nd Amendment rights and waging lawfare against U.S. gun manufacturers. Time for our Supreme Court to stop it.
