Congratulations to the Class of 2026 at Delaware State University! Today marks the beginning of a new journey filled with endless opportunities and purpose.
As a proud DSU Alumna, I am honored to celebrate this milestone with my fellow Hornet family. I wish each of you continued success as you step confidently into your next chapter.
Once a Hornet, always a Hornet! #STATE 💙❤️
Every year, I look forward to Delaware Local Government Day and welcoming the Delaware League of Local Governments to the chamber!
The Delaware League of Local Governments, founded in 1963, is a cornerstone of the democratic process here in Delaware. The League supports and empowers Delaware’s local governments through effective advocacy and leadership development, all with the goal of improving everyday life for all Delawareans. Maintaining the partnership between local and state governments is essential to ensuring a high quality of life for all Delawareans.
Thank you to the Delaware League of Local Governments for your continued service to the State!
It’s always a pleasure to welcome my Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, to Legislative Hall for our annual Delta Day at the State Capitol!
The Deltas have a long history of empowering women, promoting academic excellence, encouraging civic engagement, and advocating for stronger communities across Delaware and beyond.
I truly enjoyed spending time with my Sorors from all across Delaware today and having meaningful conversations about important issues facing our communities, including protecting voting rights and expanding civic participation.
Yesterday, we welcomed my D9 brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. to Legislative Hall for their first ever Omega Psi Phi Day at the State Capitol.
Your commitment to service, mentorship, scholarship, and community uplift continues to make a lasting impact across Delaware and beyond.
As your D9 sister, I celebrate and support the difference you all make every day. Thank you for all the work that you do!
We give thanks for the mothers and mother figures who continue to guide, nurture, and uplift others through their faith and love. Their presence is a blessing to our communities.
Happy Mother's Day!
The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, founded in 1987, continues to uplift the brilliance and beauty of Black women across the nation. Through their platform, it amplifies voices and creates pathways to opportunity and success. I have always believed that representation matters, and seeing excellence reflected in others will continue to shape the confidence and aspirations of our youth.
Thank you all for gracing Legislative Hall with your presence as it was truly an honor to welcome you to the chamber.✨🤎
It was an honor to welcome Teacher of the Year nominees from across the state to Legislative Hall. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and to Delaware’s Teacher of the Year, Jenna DiEleuterio of Talley Middle School.
And during Teacher Appreciation Week, thank you to every educator across Delaware for all that you do for our students and families.
It is always a pleasure to have Moms Demand Action - DE in Legislative Hall! Today, I had the opportunity to meet with advocates who are actively raising awareness around gun safety and the safety for all Delawareans.
Moms Demand Action, thank you all for meeting with me and for all that you all do!
Pregnancy and postpartum can bring so many emotions, and not all of them are easy to talk about. Too many mothers face mental health challenges in silence. Let’s continue to break that silence and make sure every mom knows she is not alone.
Please know that support is available, and you can visit postpartum.net for more information.
165,000 Delawareans struggle with mental health in some capacity. Mental health touches every one of us either directly or through someone we love. Mental Health Awareness Month is a strong reminder that we must keep working to ensure Delawareans have the support they need in tough times.
Delaware is made stronger from the contributions of our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community. May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month - a time to recognize and appreciate the diverse communities that have had such an impact on the culture and history of our state.
