A defining producer behind modern pop’s most enduring records. Tyler Johnson has shaped a distinct sound rooted in restraint and clarity with credits spanning Harry’s House, “Watermelon Sugar,” and collaborations with Taylor Swift, SZA, Childish Gambino, and Ed Sheeran. Consistent throughline: minimal production, maximum impact

A signature bounce behind modern R&B’s most recognizable records. The Stereotypes helped shape the sound of “That’s What I Like” on 24K Magic by Bruno Mars, defining a clean, minimal, and rhythm-driven production style. Their catalog spans collections across pop and R&B, consistently delivering records built for scale and replay value.

As part of my "giving back" philosophy, I am continuing my Adjunct Professor role, teaching music dept majors "Intro To The Music Business" at a College in NJ.   Recently, My good friend Rene McLean was gracious enough to accept my invitation to be a guest speaker. It seemed very on-topic since Rene is now at the forefront of catalog acquisition, a topic we have spoken about in class all semester. I have a rich history with Rene, going back to when we both did mixshow promotion in the 90's. Rene was actually my very 1st account as a new business owner in 2008, even before I had my LLC. He called me the day after I left my major label stint, telling me:  "I have a group that I know you can break" and to get to his office ASAP.  His office was in Little Italy at the time (there were worse places to go, lol)  He played me a bunch of records from a duo who had wild hair, wore neon clothes & outrageous outfits, with an equally energetic stage show. The group he played me was LMFAO.  18 months (and a few hundred customized dj versions of "Im in Miami Trick")  later, LMFAO was the biggest thing in the world and now signed to Interscope. It was really because of that hire that I believed I can be successful w/o the backing of a label, and that my relationships and work acumen actually meant something.  Rene then went on a decade long run curating the Mixshow Power Summit, which became the go-to music convention in the business.  I was honored that he asked me to moderate multiple radio panels during that tenure. Fast forward, Rene segued to catalog acquisition, where now he is a leader in that space with SLANG MUSIC & Influence Media Partners.  He returned the favor and accepted my invitation to speak to my class about his trajectory from intern to buying artist catalog. He spoke for 90 engaging minutes and fielded questions from the class.  Thank you Rene for your time educating our youth,  playing a part in my professional trajectory & believing in me. Relationships (especially in our business) are paramount!

A record that extended beyond the charts. Logic’s “1-800-273-8255” combined narrative clarity with cultural impact, marking a defining moment where hip-hop intersected with real-world conversation. A reminder that the right record can carry both message and scale.

A songwriter behind some of pop’s most scalable records. Geoff Warburton has contributed across artists including Shawn Mendes, Machine Gun Kelly, Morgan Wallen, and Post Malone. His work on “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” helped drive a global pop moment, combining immediacy, energy, and commercial scale.

Longevity in country music isn’t given, it’s built. Blake Shelton has sustained a multi-decade run across radio dominance, television visibility, and a consistently evolving catalog. From “Nobody But You” to “God’s Country, the through line is storytelling built for scale, emotion, and replay value.
