Somehow six months have passed and our residency at the Tranzac has come to a close.
When we started back in April, the New Symphony Orchestra was just beginning to take shape. Over these months, this residency gave us the space to experiment, take risks, and imagine new ways of making music together.
We are deeply grateful to all of the musicians, artists, and behind the scenes collaborators who brought their creativity, generosity, and fearlessness into these shows. Thanks to you, a vision for a new way to approach and engage with classical music was able to materialize and expand far beyond what we thought might be possible.
To our audiences, thank you for listening with open ears and meeting us in these unpredictable spaces.
And of course, an enormous thank you to the @tranzac292 for welcoming and supporting us every step of the way.
More to come….soon

Meet us under the full moon tonight for the Back to School Field Trip! We’ll be at Leslie Lookout Park, featuring Render File improvising music to video games projected onto the park’s giant concrete structure, and an opening set from Owen Kurtz and live filmmaker Callon Murphy. Directions begin at Queen St and Leslie St.
The two video games being featured today are “Miniatures” and “MOONLIGHT”. The former has a beach level to go along with the park’s sand pit, and the latter is entirely based around the full moon and obelisks. Perfect.
The Render File ensemble consists of Josh Sparks, Aidan McConnell, Sam Laramee, and Ben Rositan. Owen Kurtz + Callon Murphy consists of Callon Murphy and Owen Kurtz.
