"What the Moon Beheld", acrylic & oil on mounted canvas. 2025
"..., by the dim and yellow light of the moon, as it forced its way through the window shutters, I beheld the wretch β the miserable monster whom I had created."
a consideration of the last moment before unending torment
this is a collaborative piece between myself and @gone.a.fowl , an homage to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, and part of @havengallery 's "Literature" show, which is now on view till February 1st ππΏ
one of the darkest pieces i've ever contributed to lol. sadly both devon and i forgot to take detail pics upon completion, so the latter 2 slides are from when it was still in progress; please consider visiting the gallery if you're in the area to get a better look at this piece (and all the other pieces that are on display!)
to inquire about this piece, please contact Erica at [email protected] #maryshelleyfrankenstein #themodernprometheus #romanticism
Sebastian ; oil on canvas
part of the Art of Antiquity group show at @havengallery , opening sept 30th
baby's first christian martyr painting π lol
so i am not religious, but i really like st sebastian pieces, and after reading a bit about his story & how he's been reinterpreted as an icon of the queer struggle, i wanted to paint my own version :) i think his is a story that definitely resonates with queerness, to be persecuted for revealing a truth about yourself, the suffering brought about by a stiff, archaic regime. may it someday crumble so we can all thrive as our true selves π€Έ
this will be on display at haven gallery for their next group show, which will have an opening on the 30th from 6-8pm. i will be there, along with many other artists in the group show and the solo shows that will also open that day. come see the show, it'll be a great time!

hope to see you there :)
The White Falcon (Griffith)
acrylic & oil on canvas; 16" x 20"
~
finally got to paint the pretty boy π and just in time!
prints of this one (and the piece from my previous post) will be available this weekend at anime boston, pro row table PR510.
and another exciting thing! i'll be bringing the original painting of this one, as well 2 of my other fanart pieces, to the art show. anime boston is probably only one of 2 shows i ever do that i'm able to bring my paintings to, so definitely take this opportunity to see the work in person! they will also be for sale, so go have a look, think about how nice they'll fit into your gallery wall, and maybe take one home :)

"The Act"
2025-2026; acrylic & oil on canvas; 16"x20"
this is a piece about playing a role to protect myself in scenarios where i feel vulnerable (always tbh)
i spent a very long time sitting on this piece, working on it on&off, because i wasn't sure how much i liked it. i think the idea is genuine, but i started falling out of love with this composition as i spent more time with it. personally, i think it fails to convey the part where the beings from whom i hide aren't necessarily evil; in this, they appear as something like ghouls or even demons, but in my original idea, they're often just other people who don't see what i see, because there are 8.2 billion complicated & nuanced ways with which to come into contact and interpret the world. so for that reason, i did end up dragging my feet with this, but it's still a piece i made, so i ought to share it. i'll definitely keep hanging onto this thought and will try again to articulate it in the future.
in the meantime, prints? y/n?
hellooooo @animemilwaukee , happy to be back in milwaukee again π
find me in the artist alley at table 312, on the backside of the 300s block from the hall entrance (see second slide for map!)
2025 art vs artist woohooo

"Deliverance (Lung)", acrylic & oil on mounted canvas
i started this piece at the end of march after my lung had collapsed. i think often about how my body limits me socially, and especially during that event, i wanted so badly to leave it behind. this does not mean i wanted to perish; i wished i could exist outside of it, to take a temporary leave while it resolved itself, but i was trapped in there too.
i don't know how much i consider my body as part of my identity. when i look in the mirror, it feels the same as when i look at any person on the street, although i guess i see this person more frequently than most (but certainly not all). i think the person in the mirror looks fine enough, but my appearance and my actual self feel like two separate thoughts
let me know in the comments if any of that makes sense lol
also, i am uploading this from my desktop as i may be uninstalling ig from my phone for the rest of the year/the foreseeable future. i will continue to maintain presence at a similar rate to recently but should you need to reach me directly, please do so via other avenues first (i will likely still see messages on desktop, albeit much less frequently)

a piece about mismatched understanding of circumstances, and the people that you please.
~
this year's small guy for @havengallery 's Little Big show, on view now for the rest of the month (show closes on the 28th). go see this piece & many others if you're in the long island area! it's a lovely show featuring so many incredible artists, always amazed & honored to take part.
to inquire about this piece, please email Erica at [email protected]

i have a couple other pieces in my backlog and i've been toying with the idea of making reels again (or perhaps just an email newsletter), so we will see each other again soon. in the meantime, my last 2 in-person events of the year are coming up in salem(ma) & albany(ny), hoping to see some of you at either of those.
until then, stay warm & may you find peace, my friends
