@galway_theatre_festival Galway Theatre Festival Presents a Work in Progress
By Emer Lyons
ROOM(S) traces the split selves of Bridget at twenty‑one and thirty‑five, moving between the heat of Australia and the damp familiarity of Ireland.
As memories collide across continents and decades, this work-in-progress unpacks the quiet ache of loneliness, the weight of expectation and the tender, complicated truth of queerness. A lyrical, time‑bending exploration of identity and desire, ROOM(S) invites the audience into the private corners we build for ourselves and the ones we try to escape.
Starring Rena Bryson & Cáit Dwyer.
Written and directed by Emer Lyons.
Dramaturgy by Gavin Friel
Venue: De Burgos
Tickets: €10/€8
Dates and Times: May 9 3pm & 5.30pm
Duration: 40 mins
Guidance: 18+. Contains strong language, references to abuse and abortion.
For tickets please go to Galway Theatre Festival website or see link in bio
Room(s) was partially funded by Galway City Council and Galway Theatre Festival.
Is This Bathroom Haunted? @galway_theatre_festival
In this new spirited horror dramedy, lonely Doireann is on a mission to find a bestie for life but instead discovers a bathroom full of ghosts in one of Ireland’s oldest nightclubs. Each apparition has her own story ranging from heartwarming to grotesque, hilarious to horrifying. Blending wicked humor with the macabre, this play reflects the evolving experiences of women in Ireland, exploring societal expectations, queer identity, consent, and the messy, magical search for connection.

Just killing this look @renabryson ! It was so fun revisiting this concept and just having fun with it!
We’re taking it back to the very first shoot with recreating (mostly) a few shots with the fabulous Rena Bryson! We initially wanted to do a retro glam shoot all those years ago and we decided to revisit it for the 10 year anniversary! We didn’t have the first dress still so we went full glam with this one!
Thanks to @thenestsligo for having us!
1st one is the reshoot and the 2nd is the og reference
It’s very strange to reference your own work but I love how this turned out and sometimes going back to the start with a good friend shows how far we’ve both grown.
It’s an ultimate throwback!
