The slides are in order of most recent material first. The last slide is my first attempt- nothing special, no bump or normal map, but it sparked the e idea- you can also tell i used different parameters for my cloth simulation before making a successful tarp simulation. To e second from last is the second iteration of my material. The bump map hazes the glossy reflections, I liked the texture but not how it behaved under light- so I made the final version which is the first slide. In my other post there are two materials used- one with bump and one without. The finer creases were achieved with a normal map generated from a real tarp material.

Inspired by the original Altered Carbon Netflix art. Obviously it’s not the same, but I wanted to experiential with cloth physics and a plastic material I made. The material has some subsurface tint to replicate a thin layer of fluid supposedly under it- there is also a bump map to add a tactile texture, but due to instagrams compression you won’t see it. It’s amazing how lighting and post grading makes such a huge difference. Sometimes renders don’t look super good- but when exported in formats that store all the colour information you can push the curves and really dial in the look(I also realise it looks different on my phone when compared to m laptop, ipad and my desktop- the highlights don't pop...). This is another idea I’m going to shelf. Maybe in the future I might add texture decals like the altered carbon poster.

Fun little project. Went through a few iterations- I’ll admit now that it’s at a portable stage, I’m not a fan of the remodelled face.. I prefer the rounder variant. The hair went through some changes but I can’t post those images due to instagram guidelines. I definitely learned a bunch over the last few days. And I think I’ve nailed the desktop- iPad Pro workflow. Not a huge fan of this render- I think it’s pretty creepy, but I’ll definitely revisit the concept at a later date and refine it.

Closer look at the neck jewellery. I started with simple gold checkers- then I began work on the diamond necklace choker. Based on Polki Kundan diamond necklaces. The beads were originally meant to be pearls but I tonight the off white pearl colour was too distracting. The gold bands were pretty boring to look at next to the diamonds, so I repurposed a normal map I had from another material from a previous project.

This was really fun to make. I haven't really expeiremnted much with hard light, spot lights, but I really love how I'm able to highlight a subject.

This took me way longer than expected to complete. I slacked on the modelling aspect and didn't put in enough hours. Similar to the previous scene I filled in the gaps with photoshop. I'm still really pleased with the results.
