This outfit is made to improve and show to the right people my sewing skills and view on fashion.
The base for the dress is a corset, made of combination of two kinds of fabric: velvet and glossy patterned cotton.
The corset is extended with the top element: short sleeves and collar; and bottom: multilayered skirt. Both top and bottom are made from organza finished on the edges with satin ribbon.
One glove and barrette makes the dress complete to be an outfit.
This time I had worked with a time limit. It took 10 days to have a wearable result.
Was a pleasure to wear it at vernissage Art Of Belonging in De Ruimte last Saturday.

Deze kostuums verschuiven de grenzen van het lichaam.
Met vermenigvuldigende ledematen, tweede huiden en latexstructuren ontstaan vormen die zich niet meteen laten lezen: uitvergroot, instabiel, eigenzinnig.
In performance komen ze volledig tot leven, maar ook daarbuiten blijven ze werken — als sculpturale textielobjecten die iets vasthouden van beweging, druk en transformatie.
