The National Sleep Foundation recommends seven to nine hours of sleep per night for adults between 18 and 64. Adults over 65 may need 7-8 hours. Yet more than one-third of adults in the National Sleep Foundation’s 2020 Sleep in America Poll aren’t getting the recommended sleep and feel sleepy during the day for at least half the week or more. Many say it affects their mood, mental sharpness, and productivity daily. Try these tips from The National Sleep Foundation to help you get a good night’s sleep, and let us know how it goes! Let’s #healtogether

Let's be honest. Is there something else you're supposed to be doing right now? If you’re reading this post instead of tackling one of the many projects you have on the go, feel no shame: This is a safe space, and you’re among friends! Have you ever sat down to work on a report or project and realized it’s much less stressful and more rewarding to check out the latest sports score or watch TikTok reels? If so, join the crowd: at least 20% of the adult population are chronic procrastinators. Contrary to popular belief, procrastinating has little to do with laziness. And it’s far more complicated than simply being a matter of time management. To understand what causes procrastination, check out our blog article: /post/why-we-procrastinate-and-how-to-stop #LetsRemble

When a person experiences depression, key ingredients of a healthy lifestyle can suffer—diet, physical activity levels, and sleep. By the same token, maintaining adequate nutrition, regular physical activity, and a proper sleep schedule can help relieve tension and stress and leave a person less vulnerable to depression and mood changes. It is always easier to make positive lifestyle changes with the support of others. If you are comfortable discussing goals to take better care of yourself and manage your depression, consider involving family and friends as part of your ‘get-better’ plan. For example, exercise with a friend, make healthy recipes for the entire family at mealtimes, and participate in group activities. Want More Help? Let's just face the sad truth. Bad days happen, like when you find out your work proposal was turned down, when you plan a barbecue for the weekend and it's going to rain, when you want a cup of coffee, but the machine is broken, or when you step in dog poop. There will always be times when you feel down in the dumps, and your spirits are low. The next time your spirit sags, don’t let it unsettle you. Try any or all of these strategies to get yourself out of that rut and ready to grab the bull by the horns and go for it! #LetsRemble
