Likely my favorite part of the journey with Relativity Textiles (11 years in the making making!) is working with other artists. In 2023, I created the Relativity Collective. I am called to use my teaching and coaching certification to empower others to reach their goals. I only take on a select few collaborations each year. My favorite ~ by far ~ has been working with Celia Carstens of Found & Form @foundandform . Her uniquely beautiful worldview is inspired by her travels to her homeland of Italy. 🇮🇹 This design, called Glimmer, is subtle and elegant. Her delicate watercolor paintings were turned into pattern repeats and made into wallpaper and fabric. Want to learn more about our consulting packages? Ever dreamed of making your art into a viable product line? Reach out through our contact form and let us know how we can help! #patterntoprofit #artistssupportingartists #manufacturing

🌿One month until PERENNIAL CITY: Experiments in Urban Gardening opens🌿 This exhibition explores Chicago as a living landscape - shaped by Hull-House immigrants, neighbors, reformers, artists, and growers who viewed the city not only as public infrastructure, but as shared ground. From early visions of playgrounds and open-air schools to today’s community gardens, Perennial City traces how urban gardening has functioned as civic practice, neighborhood design, and mutual care.  A sneak peek: the first floor walls are wrapped in a new toile wallpaper by Erin Minckley, founder of @relativitytextiles . Drawing on 18th-century French decorative traditions that once depicted idyllic scenes of bourgeois leisure, the design shows Hull-House immigrants in scenes of play and pastoral landscapes.  Integrating archival photographs from the Hull-House collection – including this scene from the People’s Friendly Club in 1909 – the wallpaper reimagines who is centered in narratives of recreation, beauty, and belonging. Join us starting March 19 and experience interactive installations, rare archives, and stories of how modern Chicago grew through its immigrant communities.  Perennial City: Experiments in Urban Gardening is supported by the Efroymson Family Fund, Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, Terra Foundation for American Art, the Building Climate Resilient Spaces for the Humanities at UIC project, and generous donors to the museum’s annual Neighborhood Social. The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum presents PERENNIAL CITY: Experiments in Urban Gardening, the first exhibition to consider how immigrant communities and Hull-House residents shaped Chicago’s gardens and parks by transforming disused private land into shared spaces of cultivation.  Opening with a special reception on March 19, Perennial City brings together rarely seen photographs of Hull-House’s open-air schools, playgrounds, and rooftop gardens with archival materials, collection items, and newly commissioned works by Chicago artists. Set against the backdrop of rapid industrialization and city beautification campaigns at the turn of the twentieth century, these materials reveal how immigrants used gardening to claim health, dignity, and power in the urban landscape.  The exhibition is inspired by figures and groups such as Jens Jensen, Laura Dainty Pelham and the People’s Friendly Club, an intergenerational circle of Near West Side residents who, through agreements brokered by Hull-House, gained access to land and experimented with sharing property, labor, and care. These “perennial” concerns shaped early philosophies of urban design and civic life, with legacies that continue today. Featuring original commissions by @csiembra , @olly.costello.art , @relativitytextiles , @melissahpotter , and @red_line_service_institute , Perennial City connects these histories to our lives now. Across installations, prints, painting, and living materials, artists explore land access, extraction, migration, and regeneration—asking how tending gardens has helped communities survive and imagine futures across generations. What does it mean to grow a city together?  Who gets access to land—and at what cost?  What can immigrant histories teach us about urban futures? Follow along here and visit our website for exhibition events, programs, and public conversations. – Perennial City: Experiments in Urban Gardening is supported by the Efroymson Family Fund, Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, Terra Foundation for American Art, the Building Climate Resilient Spaces for the Humanities at UIC project, and generous donors to the museum’s annual Neighborhood Social. Sold a print of my artwork to this lovely human last week. It makes my heart so full when someone purchases my art. This is why supporting artists makes the world go ‘round. Kristi and her husband are working on developing an art collections and their home just got a little prettier. “Black Beauty” available on my website in 12”x12” size, DM me for the larger version. #artist #prints #artistsofinstagram

Here’s what a day in the life looks like: morning started with shipping out two copies of my book Artists Who Thrive and signing them with my favorite prompt: “Channel your Magic and share it with the World.” ✨🦋 Then, because I had an unexpected cancelation of my wallpaper install, I got some good old fashioned studio practice in. I haven’t painted in two weeks so it was a very happy time to finally be back in the zone. Working on some still lives with Greek vase inspiration and a little feminist angst. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Listened to a recording of a masterclass I missed yesterday on visibility, consistent content and being prolific with imperfect videos, which of course inspired me to post this. 💥 Got so swept away I forgot to eat lunch. Ended the day with a follow up call with my favorite coaching client. We were on Zoom for a “Quick Pow Wow” (that lasted two hours 😂). Later in the evening I got a sweet note from her that made the whole day even better. Cherry on top. 🍒 I love my job. I love my life. I love being an artist because every day is different. @ravenswood_workcenter

Ginkgo Neutral (Tan) looking so fly on the walls of a dentist office! Closing out the year with a lot of gratitude for all the spaces we’ve been able to beautify with globally inspired designs. This design by @sydmayme has been one of the most popular of 2025! So grateful for this collaboration with such an awesome human.
