ā€œDunk onlyā€ 😤 Episode 11: Kadour Ziani, Slam Nation Co-Founder and author of ā€œUnlock Mobility - 7 Posturesā€ šŸ’ŖšŸ€ I met up with Kadour @veniceball Legend’s Day at 7am (watch Episode 7 to learn about that whole day!) Even though we had just woken up, he immediately started dunking. Keep in mind he is 51 YEARS OLD and only 5’11ā€ šŸ‘€ In his prime, Kadour recorded a 56 inch vertical jump. He has also dunked over 30,000 times in his 33 year professional dunking career. His longevity tips were super helpful and shared how they help activate his body. Kadour has the ā€œDunk or Dieā€ mindset, which is what keeps him going. He rewarded himself with breakfast after dunking and highlighted that he listens to his body by eating organic, fresh food šŸ„— His upbringing with 11 brothers and sisters meant he was always learning in the ā€œSchool of Hard Knocks.ā€ But Kadour only started taking basketball seriously after watching the USA Dream Team in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona šŸ„‡ He was inspired by Jordan—and was able to exceed Jordan’s jumping ability after dunking from the free throw line AND SIMULTANEOUSLY dunking over a car šŸš— He’s also able to KICK THE RIM. So I asked him what his real secret is, and he took me to an Asian message parlor at the Venice Beach boardwalk haha šŸ˜‚ Reflecting on his journey, Kodour’s mission is now to pay it forward and help the next generation of dunkers. But he’s also here for the *regular* hoopers—like me and you 🫔 His book walks through 7 ancestral positions modeled after primal animal movements. These exercises can help anyone stay active and mobile. You can support Kadour by buying his book on Amazon! Just search his name on the website/app… there’s also a link in his profile if that’s easier šŸ“š What’s your excuse to not dunk now? šŸ¤”

I suck at basketball… but have always loved playing the sport. That delusional passion is what inspired me to start Regular Hoops. I didn’t know what I was doing back then, but the mission was always clear: to make regular people feel included in basketball culture. It came from auditing my own social media feed and realizing the industry mostly highlights elite high school, college, NBA, and WNBA players. To be clear, they deserve it. They are skilled professionals. But when I show up to play pickup, 99% of the people on the court are ā€œregularā€ hoopers. Like… ā€ØšŸ“š The student avoiding homeworkā€ØšŸ’¼ The corporate exec fresh out the officeā€ØšŸŽ¤ The rapper still holding onto hoop dreams Basketball evens the playing field. It brings people from completely different backgrounds together in the most organic way. That connection is what I’ve spent the last three years chasing and telling stories about. I am grateful for every stage of the journey, and I hope it inspires others to tap into the basketball community or pursue something they love… …even if they suck at it. So, Happy World Basketball Day. Hope the rim feels a little wider today. Swish,
Danny #regularhoops

We delivered pizza to the @raptors locker room šŸ•šŸ€ The Raptors were in town playing the @brooklynnets , so @alvoalvoalvoalvo baked them some of the best pizza in NYC. While making the pies, @super.rosario , shared… why he started working in the pizza world, what inspired the name ALVO, and how basketball & pizza shops are similar. Buffalo slice is next level btw 🫔 And let us know how many pizzas you think we made ā¬‡ļø #basketball #nba #nyc #brooklyn #pizza #regularhoops #regularhoopers

Our first ever 3v3 tournament was a huge success. This was something that first became an idea in the fall of last year, and it finally came to life last Saturday. It took a village, but it all came together better than we dreamed it could, and it was all thanks to you all, our basketball community of Regular Hoopers! A MASSIVE shoutout to our sponsor @getsportsleep , the tournament truly would not have been possible at this level without their support and belief in us. Everyone go show them love use code REGULAR20 for 20% off your next purchase! More content from the tournament coming soon! šŸ“ø: @d.avyds

Day 7 at NBA All-Star Weekend (finale) šŸšŒšŸ€ Skipped Day 6 because life happens… …but this Finale makes up for that. It started with NBA All-Star and 3-Point Champion, Tyler Herro (@nolimitherro ), pulling up to Linden Park in Oakland 🫔 He got his bus pass (aka a bucket on the Hoopbus) and led a youth basketball clinic. Then Mista F.A.B. (@fabbydavisjr1 ) came through to share what this court means to the community. He helped renovate it since he grew up in an apartment down the street and knows how the court acts like a sanctuary. After Linden Park, we celebrated the end of our ā€œShow Bay Loveā€ tour. 11 days. 3 Buses. 25 Events. 3 court renovations… and a whole lotta buckets 🪣 Thank you to @thehoopbus for having me. I will never forget these experiences and amazing people ā¤ļø #showbaylove

02-23-2025 So many great things this run. We had @regularhoops creator @regulardannyy in town which is always a pleasure. The vibes were high as we implemented that the previous RHOTW has the power to control the music for the run and @sircalvington provided big time. Also, our very own @dabblyducks swung by and dropped off some merch! It was a great run filled with great moments, here are just a few of them. A HUGE shoutout to our special sponsor @hoopfuelnutrition for fueling us this run. They provided us with some of their product for our guys and it was a huge boost. Thank you Hoop Fuel! šŸ™šŸ½šŸ™šŸ½ Another great run in the books, what’s coming next is huge — so stay tuned!!
