✨ Today we cut the ribbon on the HueMan:Shelter project in Midtown, which is a powerful example of how art and action come together to change lives. This project shines a light on the human stories behind homelessness, reminding us that every Houstonian deserves to be seen, supported, and heard. I was honored to stand alongside Houston Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, community partners, artists, and those with lived experience whose vision and creativity made this incredible project possible. Public art doesn’t just beautify our city, it builds understanding, inspires change, and creates pathways to dignity and healing. Thank you Bloomberg Philanthropies for helping to make this project possible. #HueManShelter #Community #PublicArt #HomelessnessAwareness #MOCA

This is what unity looks like in motion. Austin showed up. The team showed up. And together, we installed the final hands at the entrance of the Unity Tunnel a reminder that this work was never built by one, but by many. Every tile carries intention. Every hand carries love. Every moment reflects community. Deep gratitude to Austin Arts in Public Places / ACME Program for believing in this vision and creating space for public art to thrive. And thank you to Daltile for the generous tile donation that helped transform this idea into something permanent. This is how we put the public back in public art. — Reginald C. This celestial community ceremony brought together art, sound, and sacred geometry as part of the HueMan Shelter Project. Participants from the Career & Recovery Resources UpRise Enterprise Program worked hand-in-hand with community members to co-create a radiant LED Light Labyrinth—a sacred pathway designed for reflection, intention-setting, and healing. The labyrinth became a living artwork, glowing with light and layered with meaning, symbolizing the collective journey from struggle to transformation. The evening unfolded with a profound sound meditation led by three gifted healers: • Selena Coronado • Rhonda Radford Adams • Shantau Fellows Their crystal bowls, chimes, and meditative tones elevated the labyrinth walk into an immersive spiritual experience, blending ancient communal healing practices with modern creative expression. This activation is part of the larger HueMan Shelter initiative, which uses public art and community engagement to shift perceptions of the unhoused and highlight the transformative power of creativity and collaboration. Step inside the light. Feel the sound. Walk the path. Thank you to @bloombergotorg for funding $1M project through their Public Art Challenge. The @huemanshelter Project is funded in part by the City of Houston and the Houston Arts Alliance. Stay tuned and join us on this journey as we disrupt perception through absolute equality. Special thanks to : Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs (MOCA), Midtown Houston, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Career & Recovery Resoures and the Coalition for the Homeless. 🎥🔥@bacproductionsllc

Grateful to see the Unity Tunnel featured in the latest issue of Tribeza Magazine. Huge thank you to writer and photographer Analise Pickrell and the entire Tribeza team for taking the time to truly see the heart and spirit behind this work. As a public artist, I’ve always believed that civic art should do more than beautify a city. It should heal. It should connect. It should remind people who they are and what they mean to one another. The Unity Tunnel was created as a living reflection of Austin’s people, culture, memories, energy, and shared humanity. Every hand-cut tile, every image, every texture inside that tunnel carries the spirit of community collaboration and collective storytelling. From children and families to volunteers and local artists, this project became proof that public art can function as cultural medicine. One of the most meaningful lines in the article was: “We put the public in public art.” That has always been the mission of my work and the mission of my studio. We are not simply creating murals and mosaics. We are building cultural landmarks, healing spaces, and civic experiences that help communities feel seen, honored, and connected. To me, the Unity Tunnel represents the space between Earth and cosmos… the in-between where humanity lives. A sacred passage reminding us that despite our differences, we are stronger together. Thank you Austin for embracing this vision. Thank you to every artist, volunteer, supporter, and community member who placed their energy into this space. And thank you Tribeza for documenting this moment in such a beautiful way. This is bigger than art. This is cultural legacy work. This is the work of the Visionary Artist and Urban Shaman. https://youtu.be/TTpzatqwz_o?si=BaUidlutKEhTFLXg Special thanks to the City of Austin, Art in Public Places.

There’s a moment in life when you stop asking for permission… and start standing fully in who you are. That’s the energy of the Solar Plexus. It’s your center of power, confidence, and self-worth. The place where your vision either rises… or gets buried under doubt. And if we’re being honest, most of us have been taught to play small at some point. This session is about breaking that pattern. On April 27, we’re gathering inside the Art Club Infinity Room at POST HTX… a space designed to expand perception and dissolve limitations. Through sound, frequency, and intention, Selena and I will guide you into alignment with your inner fire… the part of you that knows exactly who you are and why you’re here. No performance. No pressure. Just presence. If you’ve been feeling stuck, uncertain, or disconnected from your power… this is your invitation to reset. Step in. Tune in. Rise up. Join us for the Solar Plexus Selestial Sacred Sound Session April 27 | 8:30–9:30 PM POST HTX – Art Club Infinity Room Secure your spot here: /events Come ready to activate something real within yourself and let’s vibrate higher together.

For Reginald C. Adams, murals are not just images on a wall. They are stories built with community, culture, and shared experience. His work has always been rooted in one idea: putting the public back into public art. Through collaboration with artists, neighbors, and volunteers, the Unity Tunnel has become a living reflection of Austin, its wildlife, its people, its everyday moments, and the beauty of life happening side by side. This reel captures moments of Reginald guiding the vision, shaping the mosaic, and leading a team of artists as more than 1,000 square feet of mosaic came to life in just days. A reminder that when a community creates together, something bigger than art is built. Thank you to the City of Austin Art in Public Places Program ACME Program for the opportunity and to Daltile for the tile donation that helped make this work possible. What does unity look like to you? #UnityTunnel #AbsoluteEquality #PublicArt #AustinTexas #ReginaldAdams

The Unity Tunnel was built for moments like these. A child placing his hand among the many hands that helped build this space. A young pitcher stepping into the story of the game. Artists and neighbors standing together beneath the watchful owl. This tunnel belongs to the community, and we want to see it through your eyes. 📸 If you visit the tunnel, take a photo and share it with us. Tag @absolute_equality , @reginaldadams , @cityofaustinarts and @daltile for a chance to be reposted. This is how we keep putting the public in public art. — Reginald C.
