wake up everyone it's time for the rare biannual posting of content that actually features me!!
very excellent phone pics exist courtesy of @an.gela_04
i'm honestly very happy i finally got to wear and do a photoshoot in lore-accurate traditional clothing (thanks to @small_yi_hanfu for the rental experience). some of the real camera pics are actually straight fire i can't wait to share more.
the last photo i wanted to make it seem like i drank something and croaked, Road to Empress style, but because it's an alchy bottle it just looks like i drank too much
Toyota ad (not sponsored)
so actually before I even got the car I was brainstorming which of my existing cosplays I could do with it that might make some sense. Summer da vinci was my first choice bc I wanted to do something with the "let's go places" Toyota slogan, which I think the summer adventure thing suited very well... so a year+ later I finally got to do it!!!
Thanks so much to @refutatio for helping me make this happen from behind the camera, our FGO shoot in 2023 was the first time we met so i think us coming together as car guys for the reshoot is........ you could say............................ Fate
What's better than a sui car? Two sui cars! And what's better than two sui cars? Two sui cars and an itaplane!
It's hard to believe it's been a month since this fever dream of a weekend! It all started with @sleepygoufpilot saying "hey I know a guy..." and it ended with tragedy when their engine croaked the day before we were supposed to leave for LA. (which is why we don't have three itasha in this photo π)
Of course I must thank (or blame) @cyanoacry for being the itaplane owner, all around cool guy, and introducing me to the fun and wacky world of experimentals. And of course, for the awesome tour around the LA area! Gotta get that BFR done...
Oh, and the other car belongs to @novafish_ the instigator. Together we make good decisions only, right?
If you read this far, comment kyou mo kawaii on this post for good luck.
cosplayer vs their car ππ»ββοΈ
but I guess I draw the line at long, straight wigs. it appears I was not willing to suffer that to properly match with my car. (i am weak.) BUT, there's other art on the other side! maybe take 2 in the future! π
again gotta thank @moshitea for his hard work, helping find parking spots, dealing with how reflective the PPF was, suffering the direct sunlight...
special appearance by @breadedpork , founder of the cosplayer-to-car-guy pipeline, up to no good π

please appreciate the basic bitch car guy energy photo at the end π
after this i think i need to endorse @moshitea on linkedin for car photography because he really cooked. ππ»ββοΈ this is part 1 of 2!
don't forget to like and subscribe for more Hoshimachi Suisei itasha cosplay content
suisei no gotoku arawareta star no genseki! βοΈ
i feel like i've always wanted an itasha but was never quite brave enough to follow through, until now!!! well, if anything, maybe being embarrassed to drive the car places will save me some gas money π
can't wait to cosplay suisei and take photos with my car π

last set of kimono pics!! i totally didn't forget to post these!!!!!
strange story, for some reason nagoya-obi was an extra charge, even though it's one of the styles of doing the obi that's most suited to everyday wear. in fact, this time it was so much fun i've been sent down the long path of buying my own kimono and learning how to dress myself!!
i suppose there will be more kimono pics going forward as well... swipe to the end for a bonus borgar pic!!
i've realized i've worn kimono so many times but never actually tried hanfu... how can we remedy this?
and for all the readers who clicked read more, if you'll indulge some shop talk, i'm very happy with how this direct sunlight photo turned out!! the clouds parted at just the right time, and the angle of the sun was somehow perfect to avoid really harsh shadows if your body angle is right. it's usually sooo hard shooting in direct sunlight and this turned out great.
