Upcoming photography workshop in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia on September 10-13th! David S Johnston and myself are looking to fill up to three more spots this year. This is a fun adventure for all skill and ability levels covering a wide area and range subjects from Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob and Canaan Valley. I usually advertise with photos taken from the workshop, but here I'm featuring action photos taken OF the workshop from previous years!

Solar Eclipse and Diamond Rings - Delaware, OH
Back from Crozet Arts Festival in VA where this composite of the solar eclipse from 2024 was my best seller! It was good to check out a new-to-me area. This weekend I'll be heading to @delaware_arts_festival in Ohio where I was fortunate enough to view this event and I'll have more of these on hand, booth #20.
First event of the year! I'll be set up today in Crozet, Virginia at Claudius Crozet Park today and tomorrow from 10-5pm!

I'll be setting up tomorrow at Crozet, VA for Crozet Arts Fest this weekend. I'll have some of my coastal prints, like this Milky Way from the Outer Banks this year, as well as my West Virginia stuff.
Lobster Buoy Tree - Eastham, MA
Lobster buoys are a ubiquitous part of the Cape Cod landscape. This is a section of a "tree" made from lobster buoy's in the town of Eastham, a year-round dedication to a local artist who erected a similar tree in his yard every Christmas and who passed in 2018.
I'm at the WVHighlands Artisans Gallery today and tomorrow 10:30am-5pm! The two large metals will be coming with me on the road if they don't sell this weekend. I'll have a couple discounted prints in their place after today.
The fourth workshop in the year is in the books with the conclusion of another Spring Wildflowers and Milky Way in the Greenbrier Valley with another fun group! We were treated to a colorful sunrise, two Milky Way locations and lots of Spring ephemerals. Looking forward to returning here in the Fall with Randall Sanger when the area transforms again.
We have several spots open for the Fall workshop and I still have a couple left for the End of Summer in the Potomac Highlands in September.

Salt Pond Milky Way - Eastham, MA
Unfortunately, there were no clear skies during the Cape Cod workshop on this first year. I did manage to get a brief moment of clearing during twilight two nights before the workshop, and I waited for an hour and a half in this spot for that to happen. Hoping to return to this location next year to get a better shot!
The Lobster Pot - Provincetown, MA
The Cape Cod trip was only complete after a visit to the Lobster Pot, which gave way to an entertaining evening with the workshop crew!
Stage Harbor Lighthouse Sunset - Chatham, MA
One of several lighthouses that we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to visit during the Cape Cod workshop. Maybe this will make it into the itinerary for next year!

Low tide reveals the waters of Cape Cod Bay shrinking to rivulets off shore and reflections against the explosion of sunset colors.
