I was fortunate enough to attend GW University’s commencement ceremony a week ago. Aside from the graduates celebrating their last days as college students, I also witnessed something else. A group of students speaking out against the university’s stance on the war in Gaza. They wanted to make their voices heard and made sure they were loud, using various chants and a protest walk out during University President Granberg’s speeches. The graduates exercised their right to protest and did so peacefully. The resulting backlash from those who disagree was to be expected. Many of them were adults yelling at young students.

It’s interesting how young people are often seen as naive and snowflakes. But when they get loud, the adults get scared.
