We are heartbroken to share that our sweet daughter, Ida Marie Eschmann Pyne, due today, was born still on November 21. We love her to depths beyond words. She had the cutest nose, long fingers, and every curly hair on her head was numbered by the Shepherd who holds her close. We are so grateful for all the family and friends who celebrated Ida with us when I was pregnant and have grieved alongside us in the days since her passing. We danced with Ida in the hospital and we know we will see her dance again. We’ll miss her until then.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HOBBES & HOME FOR MEOW: TWO FUR ONE! I am so so excited to celebrate the publication of the fourth book in the Home for Meow series and the birthday of my newest best friend, Hobbes!
Last year while in California for @nctegram , I told David Levithan (!) that I’d never been a cat person, but that the sweet, smart, and sassy cats of Kira’s cat cafe in Home for Meow had won me over. Little did I know that later that night a cat would choose me to be its furrever home! I’m so grateful for @taliaseidenfeld , @daniburby and @scholasticinc for helping me bring this series to life!
Big thanks also to @_nancytandon_ and @bysonjathomas for being so chill about letting a stray live in our Airbnb, to @allie.p.noble and @rosariamunda for giving so much great cat adoption advice, and to @dannyrpizz for being the best cat dad! We have absolutely loved welcoming Hobbes into our family, and it’s so fitting that the fourth book in the Home for Meow series features a cat and dog bonded pair! Johnny Dogs & Hobbes are figuring out how to be best brothers with lots of butt sniffs, a few sneak attacks, and tons of snoozing in bed.
