I remember attending the 30A Songwriters Festival for the first time as a little baby rockstar and thinking of how awesome it would be to play it… Exactly ten years later (to the day) I will play my first set as a featured artist! My Nana is the reason that I believe in magic. Her love was pure, unconditional, and the most powerful force in the entire world. She was truly a friend to all, an enemy to none. If you knew her you know how indescribably special she was. Just truly magical.
I’ve always known that a part of my soul was tied to hers. We had a really deep rooted soul connection that no one could explain but everyone understood. She was my truest friend and my favorite person.
My Nana was the smartest, kindest, most selfless, and the absolute most beautiful woman to have ever walked the earth. The colors of the rainbow beamed off of her skin. She was the rock of my family and somehow knew every answer to every question. There are absolutely no words that can fully express how important she was or how deep my love for her goes.
I never wanted to know a life without her, and I’m not sure how I’ll go on. But I feel extraordinarily lucky to have had such a close place in her life and that I get to carry her magic with me forever.
I’ll miss your back scratches and your head rubs. I’ll miss your laugh and your contagious smile. I’ll miss your wisdom and the warmth of your embrace. I will miss every little thing about you. I love you forever, my sweet Nana. I will look for you in every single rainbow 🌈
