Sarah also shares insights from her 25-year career and explains why the UK food industry offers far more opportunity than many realise. 👉 If you're interested in the future of work, leadership, or one of the UK’s most vital (and underestimated) industries - this is a must-listen. Today, to celebrate Reed’s 66th birthday🎂, we’re proud to launch something special. Inspired by the legacy of our Founder, the late Sir Alec Reed - who started Reed in 1960, at just 26 years old, with £75 - the 'All about business entrepreneurs fund' is officially open for applications. This fund is about backing action, not just ideas. Over the coming years, it will support 66 young people on their entrepreneurial journeys. In its first year alone, at least three entrepreneurs will receive £20,000 each, alongside expert mentorship to help grow their businesses. It’s designed for UK-based 18–26-year-olds who are already building something real - a business under three years old with at least one paying customer. That point matters. This is not about theory or aspiration. It’s about recognising early traction, commitment and the courage to start. Because while funding can ease pressure and unlock opportunity, mentorship is just as powerful. Many young founders don’t just need capital - they need guidance, challenge, encouragement and access to experience. Someone to help them avoid common pitfalls, sharpen their thinking and build confidence in their next move. If that sounds like you - or someone you know - now is the time to apply using the link in our bio.

Many leaders fall into the trap of an 'always on' mindset... But being contactable at all times - even on annual leave - isn’t effective leadership. It’s a fast track to burnout. This article explores why switching off is essential for mental wellbeing, how genuine rest helps the brain reset, and why trusting your team to step up in your absence actually builds stronger, more resilient organisations. It also includes a 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞‑𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 to help managers hand over effectively, set boundaries, and truly disconnect while away. 🔗 Read more and download the checklist using the link in our bio.
