Can you help us be there for horses like Harmonia? 🙏♥️ Yesterday we introduced you to Harmonia and her friends Calypso, Electra and Solo. They came to Redwings in March 2025 in desperate need of help. They were emaciated, suffering from heavy worm burdens and three of them were pregnant. Sadly, we were unable to save Solo due to the severity of her neglect, and Calypso's foal passed shortly after her birth. The group were the subject of an @rspca_official case, and their owner was given a suspended prison sentence and banned from keeping animals for life. Harmonia required intensive care over several months to overcome her severe emaciation. Thanks to the tireless work of our teams, Harmonia is now a healthy and happy horse enjoying life in the Sanctuary. This is the effect fireworks can have on horses. 😭 Having seen this footage, the organisers of this display say they now recognise the level of distress fireworks can cause. They have committed to low-noise fireworks in future and everyone at the livery yard is very grateful for that pledge. Please #KeepHorsesInMind this fireworks season by signing our petition to reduce the volume of consumer fireworks from 120 decibels to 90 decibels. You’ll find the petition link in our bio.
