How much sleep does a newborn need? 😴
Most newborns sleep around 16 hours a day. But it’s not one long stretch - think short naps and a few longer sleeps across day and night. As your baby grows and gains weight, they’ll start staying awake a little longer and sleeping in slightly longer blocks (around 3–4 hours).
Every baby is different, but those longer sleeps are on the way.
