Red Mesa has been leading the new generation of desert rock by proving that the genre is capable of greater expanses. Based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the trio churns out exciting live performances, riffs, and desert vibes like only a band from the actual desert can.
Formed in late 2013, Red Mesa composes a sound that combines desert rock with doom metal, psychedelic and western singer-songwriter/folk. Their sound appeals to fans of Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Kyuss, and mixes the psychedelia of classic rock with the riffing of old school heavy metal like Motorhead and The Obsessed.
Their latest album Partial Distortions, released on Desert Records in 2024, lands a cathartic malevolent sludge and dynamism throughout their heavy psychedelic groove.
These desert doomers will be scorching the Funhouse stage on Friday, December 12.
