This historic recognition celebrated her unwavering dedication to arts education, youth empowerment, and community leadership in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Under her leadership, the Red Hook Art Project has grown into an award-winning organization that continues to create transformative opportunities for young people through the arts, mentorship, leadership development, and community healing. The Genesis Inspiration Foundation is a charitable initiative supported through Genesis vehicle sales, where a portion of proceeds from every car purchased helps fund arts education programs for youth across the country. Through this commitment, the foundation invests in organizations like the Red Hook Art Project, empowering young people with access to creativity, mentorship, and transformative artistic experiences. Today, we celebrate a meaningful investment in the future of our young people. On behalf of the entire Red Hook Art Project family, we are deeply grateful to the Genesis Inspiration Foundation for awarding RHAP a $25,000 grant in support of our youth arts education programs and general operations. At a time when grassroots organizations across the country are navigating so many challenges, this support is more than funding it is a reminder that our young people, their creativity, and their futures matter. Today at Red Hook Art Project, in partnership with our incredible brother-and-sister duo, our young people continued working on their sculptures using pool noodles and so many other fun and exciting materials. It has been amazing watching their creativity, imagination, and teamwork come to life through this process. We cannot wait to see the finished pieces come together. Stay tuned!

Today at Red Hook Art Project, we received a generous donation of coloring books and journals from the Kehinde Wiley Shop, and we are truly grateful for their support. Thank you for thinking of our youth and helping ensure they have access to art materials they can take home to continue practicing their artmaking beyond the studio. The journals will also give students a space to reflect, write daily, and stay connected to their goals and creativity.
