Je suis en voyage à Sofia, en Bulgarie, avec mon frère. Je découvre ce pays, et comme souvent lorsque je voyage, l’histoire se révèle à travers des lieux concrets. Aujourd’hui, j’avais organisé une visite : The Red Flat @redflatsofia . Un appartement-musée consacré à la vie ordinaire d’une famille vivant sous le régime communiste, dans les années 1970–1980. Les logements étaient rares et conçus pour être occupés sur le long terme. Plusieurs générations partageaient le même espace, avec une intimité réduite et une organisation collective du quotidien. L’appartement, reconstitué avec précision, permet de comprendre comment la manière d’habiter et de vivre ensemble était façonnée par le contexte politique. Au fil de la visite, en entrant dans la chambre, certains objets ont créé un lien immédiat avec cette époque. J’ai grandi pendant ces années-là ; la visite fait renaître des réminiscences. Nous avons grandi en France, à Issy-les-Moulineaux, dans les Hauts-de-Seine. Nous vivions dans une maison avec nos parents, notre chienne Laidie, notre chat Pinocchio, et mille mètres carrés de jardin. Sur cette même planète, à la même époque, des familles vivaient des réalités très différentes. De notre côté, nous avons grandi librement, dans un contexte où l’expression était possible. En France, les années 1980 ont été une décennie de liberté de parole et de création, qui continue d’inspirer encore aujourd’hui.
