it's nice k'now... these things - the music, it's forever. sometimes on turntable, sometimes under a bed for 20 years, on a release wall or in the budget bin, but once a record is made that is the last of it for me. it's gone, on its own legs and off to make a friend. maybe not the life of the party. but always humbly in attendance. so I hear.

So I set myself a little challenge this year to do less prep and more play. here I am, 7th floor of Curtain House; 'Rooftop Bar' - one of the highest booths in Melbourne with the Ikigai crew.
Can humbly say ; nailed my first outing with a new tiny hardware rig; Digitakt+Digitone ontop a turntable lid, all new tracks, new muscle memory, with 2 months of evening writing up to the night before and 0 rehearsal.
Was unusually nervous for this one and it didn't help that 20 min before my slot , with half a beer down, I asked the DJ at 'RunnerUp Rooftop Bar' if I could set up and he informed me I should in fact start running as I was at the wrong bar! 1st time I've ever been late to a gig that doesn't involve RyanAir.
anyway, apart from the 7 flights of stairs, the journey from the writing to the playing just got much shorter. the human dubplate.
