I really do think Grace matters most in dance, what is Naatyam without grace? Striking lines and angles and jumps and turns, what are those without movement that flows into the other and takes over your body and you don’t feel yourself at that point you are just movement….
Ever thankful to @reddrose6 akka for letting me explore swarams to my understanding; never stopped me from trying new movements 🥰
Pics from the Vasant Utsav award function and performance at the Kapaleeshwarar temple Mylapore. On the most auspicious Chithra Pournami day. The stage was set in this divine ambience with milling crowds eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of Kapali & Karpagambal and Muruga. I was moved by the response when I began to perform for the verses from the Poompavai Padhigam of Gnanasambandar. What a blessing. Thanks to the Saraswathi Educational & Cultural Trust.

Happy Chithira pournami and also belated happy world dance day!💫🙏🏻
Here’s a short snippet of one of my favourite padams-Karunai Deviame. This piece is especially close to my heart, as it celebrates our beloved Karpagambal, the heroine of Mylapore, who steals every heart with her grace and power at Kapaleeshwarar Temple. ✨
Thank you so much @reddrose6 akka for always guiding and supporting 🙏🏻💗
