We used to just watch Chris and Sarah on Instagram, then eventually found ourselves taking workshops from them, learning from them, and now getting to call them mentors and genuine friends. Somewhere along the way, they became a huge part of inspiring us to run Licensed to Dance the way we do today.
One of the best pieces of advice they’ve ever given us was: “Dig your heels in deeper. Don’t back down just because someone doesn’t like how you’re doing something.” And honestly, that has stuck with us ever since.
They’ve been such a blessing in our lives — always there with advice, encouragement, or simply a conversation when we need it most. We are so thankful for people who inspire us not only as dancers and business owners, but as humans too 🤍

We’re excited to welcome Chris & Sarah Ivey of Red Dirt Dancing to Hardwood Summer Jam! 🤠
Longtime friends of Hardwood Hearts, this will be their first time judging one of our events, and we’re glad to finally have them with us. They bring great dancehall experience and a real passion for helping dancers grow.
They’ll also be teaching a class during our Sunday workshop, so make sure you take advantage of the chance to learn from them while they’re here.
If you’re ever in the Austin or San Antonio area, be sure to check out Red Dirt Dancing for lessons, classes, workshops, and some of the best dance content around. Their videos, breakdowns, and teaching style make them a great resource for dancers at every level.
Give them a follow and show them some love 🤍

Thought we were two-stepping…turns out we were two stopping... 😍
Great thing is, whether your two-stepping or two-stopping, Red Dirt Dancing and Favor Delivery make it easy 😎
Favor’s new Texas Two-Stop feature is ACTUALLY so easy, and, dang, they’re fast! We were thoroughly impressed. 🤯
Two stops. One delivery fee.
No fancy footwork required...but definitely still a dance in the kitchen. 10/10. ❤️

⬇️ Let us know how you’d dance to this one, or maybe you even have a different style!🤠
Had a very proud moment this weekend of our community and team. When I left Texas 6 years ago for the east coast I thought I’d never see country dancing again. In Charlotte I saw tons of line dancing and within my first two years in Northern Virginia lots of country swing. But two step? It seemed like I’d never get to enjoy a community of Two Steppers again. But our community proved me wrong this weekend. We had enough people learn it to have a real Two Step competition!! Not traditional progressive or progressive country swing (no hate to my progressive dancers) but REAL two step! Never would I have believed this was possible when I arrived to NoVa in 2022. Thank you to my main partners in making this happen @dancingwithellis & @amandabonzo1127 and thank you to all the @inspiradanceinc community members who chose to share in this passion with us. Can’t wait to see where we go from here🤠
