Building out a custom competition bolt gun requires a great amount of knowledge, care, and attention to the small details.
We built this out for our friend @lrh3g to start tagging things at a distance, and his demands to do it accurately were most definitely met.
This Ruger American was equipped with a Lilja 10 twist barrel finished at 26" long and chambered with Manson reamer / gauges, chambered in 30-06 with a nutless barrel installation. The muzzle device was affixed to the end to eliminate muzzle rise with a @yhmachineco shim kit. Topped it all off with a Vortex Viper PST with matching rings, MDT chassis, and mags.
We topped it off with a Smoked Bronze/Midnight Bronze @cerakote combo to retain that natural earth color.

-Signature management
This is showcasing the @cerakote Gen II Graphite Black (HIR-146). The coating was applied to a rifle to show the stark difference in where two items are both cerakoted, one with an infrared reduced coating and one regular coating.
The pistol is cerakoted in midnight bronze. The @forwardcontrols EPC dust cover was not coated for this particular visual aid.
This IR coating was developed where the need for the ability to manage the visual and near-infrared signature is present.
These are considerations when peer-to-peer warfare is ever-present, as well as LE facing more individuals equipped with such devices.
Sidenote - we were impressed with the ability of @rangerwrap that covers the optic and light on the pistol. This truly made a huge difference under NVG's.
*Shot with an RNVG equipped with thin-filmed Elbit XLSH white pho tubes - IR illumination activated.

Absolute dog fight of a match and a ton of fun with the boys
Lots of marksmanship errors at this one, particularly at distance, so there’s a lot of shooting at 20-30 yards coming in my future.
Managed to snag another GM run on one classifier as well so that doesn’t suck.
Plenty of new stuff to work on before throwing down at a little bigger match next month
