On April 17th 2026, we collaborated with the Night of Philosophy at Forum, Groningen. What a night it was! With performances by Sofya Shaikut & Red Brut and Lorenzo Modestini, we look back to another beautiful edition in which the artists lifted part of the veil, reflecting on identity, fluidity, and processes that lead to knowing ourselves. Thank you all for coming and sharing this with us. As always, keep your eyes peeled for more! We’ll be back in June. Much love, DIZOT ~~ Photos by Corné Sparidaens (Dagblad van het Noorden) and J. Butoh at the Night of Philosophy at @forumgroningen ! Dancing butoh is being born anew each time and seeing the world through a new lense. And a newborn does not wonder what kind of face it has and does not judge what it sees. Improvising with @red_brut ❤️ Thank you @zot_groningen for inviting me! DIZOT x Night of Philosophy | 17th APRIL at Groningen FORUM ✨ This year, again, (now as) DIZOT is joining Night of Philosophy at Forum with a performative program to embody the main theme of the night: Know Thyself “DIZOT: Processes of Becoming presents two transdisciplinary performance works by Lorenzo Modestini and a collaboration between Sofya Shaikut & Red Brut. The invited artists reflect on the theme of identity, fluidity, and the processes that lead us to know ourselves. Can the self ever be fully known, or is it always in a state of becoming?” 📍Where to find us? 5th floor, Groningen Forum ⏰ When? Lorenzo Modestini “Blindspots” 7:30 PM - 12:00 AM (ongoing) Sofya Shaikut & Red Brut “Mutable” 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM 🔆 Who? Lorenzo Modestini is a multidisciplinary visual artist who works across performance, installation, and drawing. In his work, Modestini reflects on the invisible structures that shape society, especially the systemic inequalities. Sofya is a butoh dancer whose work is driven by questions about the nature of things and our embodied being in the world. She is fascinated by the uniquely human desire to become a complete stranger to oneself—to transform into something beyond the human, like a tree or a bird. Her practice explores this paradox of human un-humanness and is thus a shapeshifting practice. Red Brut is the artistic alias of Marijn Verbiesen. Her work reveals a particular sensitivity to everyday sounds, objects, and poems, and attempts to create new contexts by layering them into tape collages. Poster: Gijs Deddens & Paul van de Werf/Shootmedia Free entry for performances, bring friends! More info: forum.nl/nl/randprogrammering

【you took (a) part of me】 During the 24-hour live performance event 'Life Moves Pretty Fast (Something’s Passed)' at Gallery Block C on February 28, 2026, I performed a new work, 'You Took (a) Part of Me'—a reflection on vulnerability in interactions. What toll can openness take on the mind and body? In a symbolic gesture, I invited the audience to cut away a portion of my clothing. I then sealed each interaction on my exposed skin beneath a layer of candle wax. They were invited to take the piece of clothing with them in an envelope. As each person entered the space alone, they interacted with me in their own way, without speaking. Although instructions were given, no two interactions were the same. I’m very grateful to everybody who participated and shared this with me. It was truly special, I'm still processing and will be for a long time. The same goes for Klaudija Ylaité, who organised this and all the others who helped, before, during and after the performance. Much much love!  Amazing documentation by Vanesa Miteva ~~ @klaudijaylaite @vanesaevgenievaa

On the 13th of February 2026, DIHAN and ZOT entered into an unholy matrimony. From that day on, we took on the name DIZOT (Does It ZOT). The wedding ceremony took place at gallery Block C, where many witnesses gathered to celebrate the newlyweds. Feije Duim, the pastor of this unholy matrimony; Henry Alles, carer and caterer of the celebration; and Marijke Klamer, wizard of the altarpiece, made this wedding one of the most special unions there has ever been. Later, Quanta Qualia and Tanz Mein Herz took us into dreamscapes and other worlds, leading us gently into our sweet, sweet honeymoon. No wedding would be complete without the many witnesses who came and gave the DIZOT union such a warm welcome. Thank you all for being there, for witnessing, for sharing, for caring. And, of course, to the many helping hands and volunteers who, like wedding fairies, took all the stress away from us, the newlyweds. Here are the beautiful photographs from the wedding, taken by J. Roussel. Plus some colored candids from us. Our next event will be on the 17th of April at the Night of Philosophy at Forum with two transdisciplinary performance works by Lorenzo Modestini and Sofya Shaikut & Red Brut. Entrance to the DIZOT performances is free of charge. You can find more info in the link in our bio.

Thank you @filmfestivalgr for the lovely days at this beautiful festival! We were very happy (and a bit nervous) to share Level with the audience for the first time, and it was a great experience, with kind words, interesting questions and an open and warm atmosphere! We especially want to thank @krassakopoulos for believing in the project since the first time he saw our pitch and welcoming us to Agora WIP last year! From there on the film found its way to its audience, and we are very thankful that he gave us that opportunity. Thank you Yorgos! Now on to Malaga, where we will present Level tomorrow! #levelfilm #tidf28 @berkh_ @red_brut @inescalero_ @sofialena @mariaboyarizo @adocma @mina.k.grafica @cineicaa

LIVE 27/03 at SPRINGTIJ 2026 🌱✨: @red_brut Red Brut is the project of Netherlands-based tape composer and poet Marijn Verbiesen. Her latest album, On Bare Ground (2024)—conceived during a move from Rotterdam to the northernmost reaches of the Dutch marshes—strips away the musical language developed on her two previous albums. What remains in this Zen disassembly of sonic instruments are fragments of recordings, zooming in on subtle yet vibrant moments of sonic potential: a distant voice sings, a piano warbles, an alien sound transforms into a rhythm. These texturally rich, warm, and collage-like recordings reach the ear like revealing secrets. The use of a hydrophone lends a subterranean and aquatic quality to some of Red Brut's droning assemblages—sometimes sounding like lost whale song, and sometimes like a tsunami of gushing noise. Live, she combines field recordings and cassette manipulation with spoken word and noise. (Rewire) 🎫 Get your ticket now at Pletterij.nl ✨

After the excitement of the first festival selections 🔥 we want to take some time to tell you more about Level. Level is an intimate meditation on life and death, interweaving personal experiences with reflections on climate change and the human relationship with nature. The line through the film is formed by the death of a father and the birth of a son, evolving into an exploration of the places we inhabit and how they shape us. Structured as a diptych, Level captures two distinct chapters: the first in the Netherlands, where Anna mourns her father’s passing amidst the open landscapes and dikes of Usquert; the second in Spain, where Anna and Carlos welcome their son Leo and renovate a historic house in the ancient valley of Miera. Through vivid imagery, sound, and voice, the film navigates themes of loss, renewal, and humanity’s impact on the natural world. As Anna connects with her father’s meticulous documentation of Dutch nature, Carlos confronts the ominous sea beyond the dikes. In Miera, the arrival of new life sparks reflections on time, labor, and an uncertain future. Merging documentary and experimental forms, Level becomes a portrait of landscapes as palimpsests—layers of history and memory intertwining with the rhythms of life. Ultimately, it is a story of continuations, where grief gives way to discovery and life persists.
