Short(ish) story. It’s been 2.5 years since Sam sent me the listing to our dream ‘creepy’ house next door to the cemetery. We wondered why it hadn’t come up in our search before and turns out it had originally been listed for about 150k more but no one was interested. We caught it the day it dropped down to our price range and after a few viewings and lots of debate we decided to go for it. We bid on it expecting a full on bidding war but we were the only ones and after the clock counted down it was ours (we sat in silence for about 2 mins after, half buzzing half “what the f*ck have we done 🥲).
It hasn’t been an easy ride so far. There has been lots (seriously lots🫠) of trial and error, but the pay off has been SO worth it. And we have had a laugh in between wails of despair 💃🏾
Still so many projects left to come (kitchen reno about to kick off) and it’s daunting as hell. But always nice to remember how far we’ve already come and how we’ve managed to not completely destroy the house..yet.

God today really feels like a Spring day, we’re SO CLOSE guys. Brighter mornings, longer nights and hopefully a lot less f*cking rain.
Love the house against a blue sky 😍 Also got some new pots for the front and they haven’t had any grid time yet so here they are! (As I’m posting this I’ve realised I’ve left the label in one so pretend you can’t see that)
The hatred I have for that ugly gas box remains strong, but with a quote of over 1k to have it removed I guess it’s staying there forever.

Picked up another find for our kitchen redo from our fave FB marketplace ofc. Got this (highly essential) wine fridge for £45 and the plan is for it to go into the kitchen island.

Our house is essentially sponsored by Facebook marketplace so here’s one of my favourite buys. Knew I wanted a solid wooden vanity for the sink to go on but the ones I liked online were £400-500 🫠 So I was THRILLED when this cutie came up.
The black detailing matched the bathroom perfectly so I was buzzing and it really didn’t need much doing to it. Waterproofed and tiled it was ready to go! In love 😍

Reno tip: focus on one room to renovate so you can sit in there, close the door and forget how much of a shit show the rest of the house is.
The Living Room was that for us and 2 years on I still love it especially the colours 😍
Window seat and built in cabinets still to do and I want a picture frame TV SO bad. But for now the perfect place to sit and watch Heated Rivalry.

It’s mad looking back at photos from our first viewing of the house. We really dug deep to see the potential 😅
Been reluctant to post this room as it isn’t close to how we want it, but I realised if I waited for every room to be complete before posting it could be years 🥲
Originally this room was going to be our main bedroom but our bed was too big so spare room it had to be.
This room needed to be done quickly and cheaply the year after we moved in as we had a lodger staying with us. So after some cheap Facebook marketplace finds, a lick of paint and an Amazon rug et voila!
Looking forward to when we finally have the money to do this room and the en suite properly but until then this will do nicely.

Giving the stairs/hallway a proper grid moment, they’ve come a long way.
Can probably tell by now we’re big fans of colour and yellow especially is right up there. India Yellow by @farrowandball is the perrrrfect shade and brings me joy every time I walk into the house.
