I walked down this long squeaky shaft, hoping for it to be a clever short cut..
wonky square bits in mdf opened up to more wonky square bits in cement and plastic. It turned out to be a dead end.
A very non-place kind of situation. Turning back is no fun, but at least the printed out no smoking sign added to the moment.

I have been approached very often while photographing, because people are sceptical about my odd movements and my staring in their regular spaces, especially in former East Germany. It can turn into a loud swearing battle if someone is extra paranoid, but it now usually turns into a nice conversation, which i love.
In this case I was taking photos hugging a tree (..to not be part of the shadow) had me self aware and laughing. Bingo, chat with someone who thought I was shooting their dog. 🐕✨
Luckily it turned into a friendly chat and I’m happy with the shot too.
