RE:CODE PODCAST 089 | Sebastian Keks Our guest is @sebastian_keks who hails from Berlin, a city steeped in electronic music history. From a young age, in 1998, he was drawn to the raw, tactile experience of vinyl records, which became the foundation of his lifelong love for techno culture. As an advocate for vinyl culture, resident DJ at the Legendary Triebwerk Dresden over 10 years. Beyond his DJ career, Sebastian Keks has made a significant impact with his productions. With a series of well-received EPs released on various labels, he showcases his deep understanding of the vinyl format while pushing the boundaries of techno with each new project. His work reflects both the timelessness of analog and the forward-thinking energy of the modern scene, cementing his place as a respected figure within both the Berlin techno scene and the broader European electronic music landscape. In 2014, he launched the event series Nachteulen and Berlin Techno. Since March 2024, he has been a member of SUT - Secret Underground Techno. In 2005, Umweltpumpe1 organized its first party under the name Gepflegtes Klopfen at Triebwerk Dresden, followed by additional events in Germany and Poland. In 2024, another project was launched: Gepflegtes Klopfen Series, a podcast channel focused on publishing techno sets by various DJs without any frills or gimmicks. It’s official — RE:CODE label is now operational. Framework 01 marks the first release in our new VA series focused on our vision of techno. Featuring eight great artists exploring different interpretations of rhythm, movement and raw club energy. The compilation moves between raw and forward-driving grooves infused with old-school techno elements, designed for different shades of the dancefloor. RE:CODE PODCAST 088 | Fabian Freyer Our new guest is @fabian.freyer , DJ and producer from Zagreb — Croatia. Introduced to music through genres like prog rock, metal and punk, Fabian initially found his musical voice in hip-hop, producing instrumentals and leading various private projects. His shift to electronic music in 2016 marked a new chapter. A tour in Berlin with the MORN noise project in 2017, along with visits to clubs such as Tresor, played a key role in shaping his direction within electronic music. His performances include appearances at Sonus Festival as well as clubs such as Boogaloo (Zagreb), Crkva (Rijeka), AKC Attack (Zagreb), Surogat (Zagreb), SoundFactory (Zagreb), Depo (Zagreb), and Trezor (Sarajevo), alongside shows in Switzerland, Germany and Jordan. After developing a close musical relationship with Croatia’s techno pioneer DJ Ogi, the two launched their own program @commited.cmtd [CMTD.], hosting selected international and local techno artists. Describing his sound as raw and hypnotic techno, Fabian focuses on crafting immersive sets. Prije dva tjedna RE:CODE je u klubu @oxygene.hr proslavio sedam godina djelovanja, potvrdivši još jednom svoju poziciju na osječkoj sceni. Jubilarno izdanje predvodio je berlinski gost @specific.objects , a uz rezidentnu postavu @xenex.art i Karla M, ništa manje specijalan gost večeri bio je i @omkedj , dugogodišnji ambasador osječke scene. Omke je bio zadužen za zagrijavanje publike svojim odmjerenim i majstorskim pristupom, nakon čega je podij preuzeo Xenex, podižući energiju i atmosferu za par stupnjeva prije nego što je za pult stao Specific Objects. U svom drugom gostovanju pred osječkom publikom pokazalo se da s njom itekako ima zajednički jezik savršeno se uklopivši, a istovremeno donoseći osvježenje svojom selekcijom i energijom. Završnica večeri, u nešto tvrđem tonu, pripala je Karlu M, koji je s podija iscijedio posljednje atome energije. No, ono što je ovu prigodu do kraja učinilo posebnom bila je naravno publika, koja se za RE:CODE pojavila u velikom broju i još jednom potvrdila podršku koju ovaj kolektiv gradi već sedam godina. RE:CODE PODCAST 087 | Ena Smajic Born in Sarajevo, @ena.smajiccc has developed a distinctive sound, blending hypnotic rhythms with dynamic energy, over the last eight years. From playing the piano to her first project in the techno scene, Decode, she brings together regional artists for curated club nights in Sarajevo, where she was also a long time resident at the underground hub Silver & Smoke. A key part of this new chapter is @eclipse.sarajevo , the organisation she founded in 2023, which has become a driving force behind the resurgence of Sarajevo’s techno scene. Her style is rooted in tribal techno, fusing deep rhythms with powerful energy, combining house, vocals, and dark techno into an immersive, rhythm-driven atmosphere. Her mission goes beyond DJing, she creates spaces where music drives community and creativity.
