Afternoon from London 🍂 A little about my antique journey and a bit about me too. And, of course, a huge thank you and a virtual hug for all your loveliness and support. 💛 I’ve just sent out my last Christmas orders and now I’m really looking forward to a day at the National Portrait Gallery tomorrow, followed by my 54th birthday on Saturday with a trip to one of my favourite places- Rye! Wishing you a lovely afternoon Tamara x #antiquedealer #myantiquestory #antiqueonline #thankyou #aboutme

Morning 🌿 Just a little note to say that I’ll be taking a little time off over the next few weeks whilst I have surgery. I may still pop up on here from time to time…of course I won’t be able to resist keeping an eye on beautiful antique things, but I’ve been told very firmly that I’m not allowed to lift or carry, so I’ll need to be a little careful when it comes to sourcing and packing. Thankfully, my lovely family and friends have very kindly offered to step in and help, following me around antique fairs and auctions as I point excitedly at gorgeous finds 🤣and helping to pack up treasures for my wonderful customers. I just wanted to let you know that I’m very much here in the background, still searching out beautiful pieces, and I’ll be back with energy very soon. Thank you, as always, for your kindness and support, it means so much 🤍 Tamara x

Morning 🌿 I’m sharing a few ideas for using antiques in your home, starting with this absolutely stunning oversized Japanese lacquered tray. The ochre and turquoise tones are just glorious, and it makes the perfect base for curating your own little collection of objects. Everything you see is available on the Reclectic website, apart from the trunk, which is mine… I picked it up years ago on Portobello Road and still love it just as much. I’m off for a wander around @marketnorthlondonvintage with Sam @vintagecuratorinteriors today, so I’m hoping to discover a few beautiful pieces to share with you soon. Morning 🌿 Welcome to “Antique Story Bites” I’ve been wanting to start sharing little history snippets again… so here’s the beginning of something new. Yes, I know I’m a bit of a decorative arts history geek! Antique Story Bites, is a series inspired by the beautiful pieces I source, where I’ll be sharing small glimpses into their past and how they were once used 🤍 Starting with these charming little 19th century bamboo drawers… loved for their practicality then, and just as perfect for everyday use now. Every piece I share will be available on my website. I’d love to know what you think of this new series… 🤍 Tamara x #antiquestory #antiquity #historybites #antiquesforsale #bamboofurniture

Morning 🌿 Did you know that “creepie stools” (yes, the name is as curious as it sounds!) date back to the 1800s, when they were commonly used in homes, shops, and workshops. Low to the ground and easy to slide around, they were designed for practical task, like tending fires, milking cows, or helping out in busy kitchens. Their unusual name comes from the old Scots word and perfectly describes how these stools were used, quietly “creeping” along the floor as people moved them from task to task. You can find this small piece of history with a big story on the Reclectic website. Have a lovely day. Morning 🌿 Back home from a wonderful weekend of shopkeeping in the Cotswolds. Today I’m sorting through lots of beautiful antique pieces…antique ideas for the home will be coming very soon so you’re in the right place 🤍 I’m also preparing for my mum’s 80th next week, with family coming together to celebrate a special weekend - precious moments to look forward to. For now, it’s a long dog walk in the sunshine and a little pause before the week begins. Thank you so much to Rachel and Annabel at @the.curatedstore for a glorious month long pop-up, it has been very special. Wishing you a lovely day. There are beautiful framed Victorian pressed flowers, a delightful pair of Art Deco picture frames (I’m really happy when I find pairs!), the most joyful summer oil painting and a miniature set of drawers which are perfect to store jewellery.
