ACTION ALERT: Hampshire College, a historic safe space for queer, trans, and nonbinary students, is facing an existential crisis. The board of trustees meets THIS WEEK to decide the campus’s fate. For decades, Hampshire has been a haven for radical thought, creativity, and community—a place where difference is celebrated, and everyone is afforded the opportunity to thrive. Now, the campus is up for sale. What happens next will shape not just one parcel of land, but the future of ALL our safe spaces. We need every voice, every pledge, every share—your support matters NOW. Let’s imagine the future together, a future where Rebel Satori hosts a weeklong writing retreat on Hampshire’s beautiful grounds, where our stories and community can flourish together. Let’s make it a reality. Join the movement. Draw the line. Stand with Hampshire Next and ensure we protect the places that welcome us all. I started coming to the Rainbow Book Fair three years ago. I walked in on my birthday, April 20, and Tom Cardemone approached me, from Rebel Satori Press, and said, ā€œDouglas Sadownick, I’ve been trying to republish Sacred Lips of the Bronx for 30 years.ā€ And then he actually meant what he said — who does that these days? It’s wonderful, as an Angelino, to return to my primal home base, NYC and the writer’s community here. If you’re in NYC, stop by, lotsa writers, great community, and new books! What: Rainbow Books Fair, Saturday, May 9, 2026. Where: The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center, 208 W. 13th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues When: Today, Noon to 6:00 p.m. #siegreads #rainbowbookfair2026 #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #booklgbt

We close out National Poetry Month with continued love for two standout poetry collections: Emanuel Xavier's Still, We Are Sacred and john compton's house as a cemetery. We enter May celebrating Drought, winner of the Ferro-Grumley Award for LGBT Fiction, revisiting the beautifully complicated romance of Love, Loss, and Lost Causes, and seeing the return of The Hidden Ones as we gear up for the fifth anniversary of dave ring's spec fic favorite. From poetry to prize-winning fiction to unforgettable love stories and visionary speculative work, Rebel Satori’s catalog continues to spark conversation and connection. Which Rebel Satori title has stayed with you the longest? #RebelSatori #NationalPoetryMonth #LGBTQFiction #AwardWinningBooks #IndiePress #PoetryBooks #SpeculativeFiction #BookAnniversary #QueerLit

We’re thrilled to celebrate this week’s release of The Crows by Glen P. Vecchione šŸŽ‰ Spanning centuries, continents, and even a future shaped by catastrophe, The Crows follows the path of a mysterious figurine whose curse leaves devastation in its wake—until, at last, that darkness is transformed into something unexpected, powerful, and transcendent. From an ill-fated landlord haunted by omens, to a collector in New York drawn into terror, to a far-future world where love reshapes destiny itself, this is a haunting, imaginative, and unforgettable journey. If you love fiction that is eerie, literary, and boldly original, The Crows is a book you won’t want to miss. Now available from Rebel Satori Press. #TheCrows #GlenPVecchione #RebelSatoriPress #NewRelease #IndiePress #LiteraryFiction #SpeculativeFiction #BookRelease

We’re honored to share that poet and activist Emanuel Xavier returns with a powerful new collection, Still, We Are Sacred — a testament to resilience, memory, and the enduring sanctity of queer and Latinx lives. In these new poems, Xavier bears witness with unflinching honesty and lyrical grace, weaving together personal history, collective struggle, and the holy within the everyday. Still, We Are Sacred affirms that even in the face of erasure and violence, our stories, bodies, and communities remain worthy of reverence.
