So I have another article out on @getalternative . This is something I put a lot of thought and work into. I want to say it’s something I’m actually proud of. The goal is always to put a spotlight on some great bands and I’m hoping this can even help push the genre forward. There might be some bands I missed, but I’ve included a playlist for the ones I didn’t mention. Keep the scene alive however you can. For me that means going to shows and writing. Hope you like it.

Not Just a Phase is casting our artist spotlight onto our friend Tobias Vokes today. A singer / songwriter and the brains of the entire operation behind his solo emo project of the same name.
Since late 2023 Tobias has been honing his craft as a true DIY artist who does all his instrumental writing as well as vocal work, composing and recording within the confides of his humble flat in London.
Inspired by icons of the emo genre such as Mineral, Strictly Ballroom, and Pianos Become the Teeth, Tobias doesn’t write with his heart on his sleeve as the old saying goes, Tobas writes with his entire soul on display for you to experience and immerse yourself into the art rather than just listen to it.

The challenge was to pick ONE SONG FROM EACH ARTIST on the release itself and do our best not to overlap our picks. Was it tricky? Definetly. Is this playlist the best damn emo list of 2024?
In my humble opinion I can say that yes, yes it is.
Soft relaunch of Tuesday Tunes (on a Wednesday, ironically), but now we have reviews for my favorite songs of the week. Will this prevent the slow agonizing death of this page? Who knows.
