Daniel Johnston was one of the greatest American songwriters and visual artists of all time, and this LP is one of his most important and timeless achievements. It’s essential listening for Daniel’s followers, and for the whole world.
Released in 2009 and Produced, Recorded & Mixed by his dear friend JASON FALKNER, this was Daniel’s first newly created solo LP following over 7 years of silence. He had a lot to say after that extended period of inactivity, and he sings his heart out here on this consistently captivating LP.
if you haven’t heard this one yet, you’re missing an essential opus in Dan’s catalog of unforgettable songs. There’s so much influence here from Daniel’s beloved Beatles, and only Jason Falkner (who created the arrangements and played most of the instruments himself!) could have made it all come to life so brilliantly. Plain and simple, this LP is one of Daniel’s most inventive masterpieces. It’s a perfect album.
