(Getting the tube back I was unfortunately a little jaded from daytime drinking, and couldn’t locate the camera lens fast enough, making it appear that I’m dissociating. I want to assure you though, I was actually very happy and ASSOCIATING during this photograph.)
About last night. 💫 Went actually dancing in an actual nightclub where I was about the average age which was weird and very wholesome. My knees survived the bass drop. What larks! No volatile edge I remembered from clubs in my 20’s. Feel if a drink was spilled it would be fine. 70’s and 80’s funk. Maybe I WILL dance the funky chicken in my 80’s. Thanks to the Wong-Edwards for the invite.
Took a trip to see Phil Thomas’ tender and dark meditation shaped exhibition BLACK FORMS at the London Fashion Warehouse. A trip into Phil’s mind and heart. The landscapes, the figures, the little groups of molecules that pull together in the form an eye that spots you in the gap between thoughts. The absurd masks and the attempts to put together words in a fraction of a second. Bunkers deep in war country.
Compost heaps more alive than a city. Lots of space surrounding the drama that you don’t notice at first. I love his work. Also enjoyed a nice tea cake and an Appletizer. What more could you ask for? Follow @disciplineistheroadtofreedom and see the work in person before the 26th April. 🖤
Saddened to hear about the death of actor, improviser and director Ben Keaton. A total pleasure to work with him on Brainiac Live! where he made me look about 50 times more intelligent than I actually am and had me make my stage entrance out of an exploding caravan. Also taught me how to pronounce Bis(2,4-dinitrophenyl) oxalate. Had comedy in his bones. RIP Ben.
