During a Passover seder, three generations of Jewish women: Ruth, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, her daughter Miriam, and Miriam’s freethinking daughter Leah, grapple with intergenerational trauma which affects each of them differently and causes tension within the family. As the seder progresses, unspoken feelings manifest in a variety of supernatural elements mirroring the story of Passover and Jewish mysticism.
