What a place to be a cyclist. I came under the guise of celebrating an early 40th birthday, and I leave feeling so lucky and grateful to have the life I do and have such a fulfilling and challenging experience. No other place on earth will random motorists slow up to shout encouragements and “Allez!! Allez!!” as you ride. 59:58 up the Alpe d’Huez!

Amazing weekend of racing in Lago Vista… it’s always fun to look back on race photos and see if things played out the way you remember. The big takeaway from this weekend is that, no matter what, I was always in the mix and making things happen on the pointy end of the race. For so many people, these weekends are just about getting out there and not getting dropped. Happy to be in my first successful breakaway, and happytake away my first podium🥉. It was a full year… Guava Flows on the Big Island, winning a (relay) triathlon, an eclipse, soaking up the Italian Lakes, cycling the Alps, poutine and all dressed in Quebec, halloweening in Vermont, took home some top 5s on the bike… and a tree went through the house! To many more memories, many more miles, and to many more purrs (cats not pictured).
