Caught up with Olof Dreijer, the legendary Swedish producer and one half of The Knife whose influence on electronic music runs far deeper than most care to admit. Now based in Barcelona after years in Berlin, he just dropped his long-awaited debut solo album Loud Bloom on @dh2.co , a 14-track statement that balances pure kinetic dancefloor pleasure with a deliberate push against the white, male, Western homogeny that still dominates electronic music. We explore his enduring love for the raw gut-punch of the SH101, discuss why patience is the most underrated skill any musician can possess, hear about the fan messages that reminded him why any of this matters in the first place, and get his essential recommendations for three artists whose vibe he can't stop thinking about, @t.no , @ruizosc1 , and @nidiasukulbembe ! Caught up with @ellen.allien , the Berlin-born institution who’s spent three decades shaping the global techno landscape as a DJ, producer, and founder of @bpitch.berlin and @ufo_inc.rec . A true product of Berlin’s post-reunification underground, her sound carries the city’s DNA while remaining restlessly forward-thinking. We discuss the Robert Hood track that never leaves her USB, why Kraftwerk rewired her brain entirely, which clubs she’d teleport herself into right now, why media-driven trends are just recycled 90s sounds dressed up for Instagram clicks, her essential advice for nervous DJs on how to own a booth from the very first track, and her picks for artists you should be paying attention to, such as @le_kaiju , @perfo_20 and @aadja !

Tl;dr: we're back at @ohmberlin on Saturday with @heavee_773 , @t.no , @claireprofile and @paulsouljoyce aka @psycho.calypso , @cho__room & myself! 10€ pre-sale link in bio. After two editions with guests like DJ Spinn, RP Boo, Jana Rush and Bianca Oblivion that hit harder than anyone could ever expect, Breaking Tempo returns to Berlin's favourite bass bunker @ohmberlin on April 25th. Footwork remains firmly at the centre of the series, with everything else orbiting and mutating around it - and with this night we remain fully committed to the cause, bringing Chicago footwork prodigy Heavee to Berlin for the very first time. A dancer before he was a producer, like so many who came up through Chicago's footwork scene, Heavee has spent years pushing the form into territory that is entirely his own. His critically acclaimed debut album Unleash on Hyperdub is a case in point: footwork's 160 BPM chassis is still there, but what's built on top of it draws from R&B, jazz, grime, computer games and Detroit techno. This one has been a long time coming and we are not taking it for granted. Co-headlining will be Amsterdam's T.NO - if you've been anywhere near a good dance floor recently, you've almost certainly already heard his tracks without knowing it. Drawing on his Surinamese roots and a restless ear that spans gqom, bubbling, kuduro and bouyon, T.NO is quietly rewriting what Amsterdam sounds like from the inside out. Alongside them, Breaking Tempo doubles down on the importance of Afro-Caribbean club music. Berlin's Psycho Calypso do exactly what it says on the tin — a full-throttle carnival of sound where dancehall, Latin and electronic music don't so much blend as collide, loud and gloriously messy. Hamburg sister duo Cho Room bring their command of Jersey club, Gqom and Miami Bass with the kind of effortless range that makes you wonder how two people can hold that much music in their heads at once. Breaking Tempo co-founder and Berlin bass lifer Opium Hum brings it home. See you in the circle on April 25th!

Catching Up With with @bianca_oblivion , the LA-based producer, DJ, and @club_aerobics co-founder whose genre-spanning approach to global club music has made her essential listening from Los Angeles to Lisbon. From her earliest Jersey Club bootlegs flipping Missy Elliott to her own productions on @future_bounce , @n_a_a_f_i , and @luckyme , she's built a practice that refuses to stay in one lane, weaving baile funk, grime, dancehall, vogue, and UK funky into bass-heavy constructions. We explore why the drums form the foundation for everything she creates, discuss the moment she realized she'd actually made it, dive deep into her unwavering love for the Jersey Club drum pattern, and get her picks for the artists she respects most and dreams of collaborating with next - @bastiengoat , @t.no and @dj.fuckoff Music: Bianca Oblivion & @onhellmusic - Sinais (@thysmusic Remix)

Catching up with - Breaking Tempo edition! I caught up with @cho__room , the Hamburg-based sister duo whose sets trace a line from their mother's record collection to the vast soundscapes of Black electronic music. Known for weaving Jersey Club, Gqom, Baltimore Club, House and Miami Bass they bring a singular vision to the dancefloor that's making it impossible to ignore them as the leaders of a new generation of Hamburg's underground. Catch them at one of the legendary @bombaclartbass parties, their own @sonic.stereo events or at Breaking Tempo 3 @ Ohm on April 25th with @t.no , @heavee_773 , @psycho.calypso and myself! ANNOUNCING – The next Hyper Real is scheduled on Saturday, April 18, with EntraƱas, SIM, Domizako, and Opium Hum coming to Prague’s F2. ā€œIf you’ve been paying attention, and we know you have, then the name EntraƱas will already carry a certain weight. The Ecuadorian producer has been on an absolute tear, threading together cumbia’s percussive tension with club-facing sound design, dub-inflected low end and a textural restlessness that refuses any genre categorization. His releases consistently redraw the mental map of what club music from South America can sound like when freed from expectation and have landed across some of the best labels operating right now, including Verracos’ indispensable TraTraTrax. For us, he was simply the artist of the year in 2025, no contest. That he’s arriving in Prague on the back of an extraordinary run of output makes this feel less like a booking and more like a correction, he should have been here sooner. Joining him is Montreal-based producer SIM, returning to Hyper Real for a second appearance, though this time the stakes are considerably higher. April 18th marks his European live debut, and there are few better rooms to do it in. SIM’s live sets operate in the territory he’s coined slowtech: techno refracted through the long memory of sound system culture, drawing on dub, dancehall and bass music’s deep roots to arrive somewhere deliberate, pressurised and genuinely heavy. Where much contemporary techno accelerates toward abstraction, SIM moves laterally, letting tracks breathe and build with the patience of someone who understands that a room doesn’t need to be pushed, but that it needs to be pulled.ā€ – Opium Hum Support comes from our residents Domizako and Hyper Real curator and chief instigator Opium Hum, setting the temperature from the off. ā˜† First release is now available. No new video today, instead a few thoughts on AI that I've been trying to process and structure over the last few days. This is less about AI as a creative tool, but rather about the last thing capitalism hadn't fully captured yet, our ability to be in awe and to be enchanted.
