Nigerian-born singer-songwriter AmiiFy - real name David Tolu Akinrinmade - has been making an effusive blend of alternative indie, R&B, folk and lo-fi music since 2021, starting around the age of 14.
On his new EP,‘Suddenly, Everything’s Changing’,
AmiiFy’s musical influences span eras; whilst dialled into current playlist favourites, he also has a love for folk and rock Hall of Famers.
“I’ve been listening to a lot of The Radio Dept. recently,” he shares. “My main inspiration for the EP was The Goo Goo Dolls, and a lot of Billie Eilish. The final song of the EP, ‘Otherside’, was heavily inspired by Tracy Chapman."
Now able to sustain himself through music alone, AmiiFy’s grateful that his art can come to the aid of those in his close orbit, as well as the fanbase he’s growing with in real-time.
“I’m in a position where I can bless others. I can give back to the ones who looked out for me, supported and believed in the ideas I have. It’s been a big adjustment, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

despite the fact school has been whooping me lately, all i wanted was for you guys to be able to listen to this beautiful project i put together.
So much time and effort was put into making this EP and it’s so very special to me.
I wanted to make sure the EP really reflect how much things have changed in my life from being able to record songs in a studio to the big moments and even the relationships in my life.
