DESCRIPTION: In this class we are working our way up from the floor to the clouds, we will explore light floor work for the body to ground, vocal play for the body to sing, and ebb and flow between these worlds as we form our own mantras in motion within a collective choir of our own voices.
This is a guided class that invites you to sit in the waters of your body between sound, movement, and memory that's inherently held in the body.
This is a collective space to yell, hum, holler, & dive into a journey rooted in practices of black and indigenous women that navigates the role of the voice as a caller, the body as the responder, and vice versa.
We will explore the many worlds and themes that exist within the waters of our bodies in relation to memory, sound, movement, vocal percussion play, and its many molecular connections to our emotions and sense of self. All the while having fun, executing phrases of afro-contemporary movement, and finding ourselves in a choir of bodies. - More information on Tendayi on our website
