Maybe it’s time to remember the best days. 💿🫧
The 2000s felt like the peak of European civilization — a time when music, fashion, and even commercials sparked the imagination. 📺✨🎧
🪩 My new track feels like stepping into a time machine —
traveling back about twenty years to the early 2000s. ⏳💽
It was the era when Paul van Dyk was a brand face of Motorola 📱,
the radio was filled with Chicane and Tiësto 📻,
and designers were obsessed with cool palettes of white and blue 🤍💙,
glass surfaces, and glossy plastic. 🧊✨
💫 At first glance, “Secret Life” may sound like a playful nod
to the soft-club aesthetics of the Gen-X era. 🪞🫧
But lyrically, it reveals a more serious and contemporary layer.
🌍 For the past several years, I’ve been living and working in Kyiv.
The bright, euphoric energy of this track —
which feels so perfectly at home in the first days of spring 🌱☀️ —
was actually written during periods of missile strikes, shelling,
and a deep humanitarian crisis 💔
often without electricity ⚡️, water 🚿,
or central heating. 🧊
🕊 In this context, “Secret Life” takes on a completely different meaning.
Something far deeper lies beneath its glossy Eurodance surface 💿✨:
a quiet anthem of resilience, hope, and faith in a better future —
or perhaps a better past. 🫧🌅

David Byrne in his book “How Music Works” writes about how our music is defined by the space where it sounds. Could I have imagined that my songs, written in a small studio in Kyiv, would sound on such a stage? Definitely not!
The question now is different: does this mean I need to maintain this standard in working on new songs? Well, I’ll have to strive for it!
