A luxury grocer just declared war on Erewhon. Laurel Supply, from the same people as Laurel Hardware, opened up within spitting distance of West Hollywood’s Erewhon. Can both survive within blocks of one another?

RPS was the only publication sitting in on the Community Board 8 meeting last Tuesday, where representatives from Estelle (Maison Estelle, Estelle Manor, Celeste) presented their plans: a full building takeover across all five stories, encompassing a restaurant, private dining, workspace, and lounge areas. Their pitch was that they offer “old school values with a new school spirit, members have plenty to say but nothing to prove.” The building currently houses Sistina. More on and in Wednesday’s letter.

What started as niche functional medicine has become a status symbol for the concierge-health set — even before biohacker Bryan Johnson posted his girlfriend’s vaginal microbiome results to 21 million viewers and declared her in the “top 1%.” 👀👀👀

Whether you love or hate this car, you’re about to see it everywhere. After a decade of identical luxury SUVs, the Grenadier-a British-made throwback to the original Defender funded by a chemicals billionaire— signals something else entirely: you’re not trying to look rich, you’re trying to look like you don’t care. It’s boxy, a little awkward, and vaguely utilitarian. It lands somewhere between old Land Rover, Patagonia catalog, and private club parking lot. The car hit record sales earlier this year, with 60% of its market in the US. See ya in the Hamptons, Grenadier!
