In Hello, Home Cooking, Chef Ham El-Waylly taps into everyone’s nostalgia—his versions of beloved dishes carry a can’t-quite-put-my-finger-on-it heart-warming quality. These recipes work for cooks of all levels, using core flavors from different cuisines, and frees readers to mix, match, and shake up classic dishes from all around the world.  The ticket includes samples of two recipes from Hello, Home Cooking. Tonight we celebrated women-owned businesses across Buffalo. This year I was a NOMINEE for a 2026 Ignite Award, specifically the WOMAN OF IMPACT: Honoring a business owner whose work is creating meaningful economic, social, or community impact across Western New York from The Women's Business Center at Canisius University (@wbcatcanisius ) for my work with Read It & Eat. You know what's super cool? Seeing two fellow bookstore owners also nominated for their work in the area. Our industry is full of rich powerful community changemakers and I'm so happy to stand alongside them. Congrats to fellow nominees @secondchapterbookstore and @literary.lounge.716 for your respective categories. Kudos to the most supportive Schlepping Husband™️ for always standing by my side too, especially as I fought off a major sinus headache to put on a dress to show up tonight.
