Hi! I'm on Instagram every day, checking in on what my friends are doing (and my favorite celebrities lbr), but I haven't posted since...*checks feed* September. Yikes. I was never consistent or serious about Instagram, but I still liked being around. Not sure if this will be the first of many or one isolated post that becomes yet another dropped attempt at doing something. Being at home all the time isn't much of a change for me from my regular routine, but obviously mentally staying home to #flattenthecurve is way different from staying home because I want to stay home. Also, I miss my friends. I've been reading, if not more than ever, as much as ever, but with even more of a need for romance. The last four years and now especially have been a time when I desperately need stories that bring me joy and hope. Some haters say literature is escapist like a bad thing, but personally I think it can be the best thing. Sometimes you NEED to get out of your own head for a while, and books and tv shows are what do that for me. To Have and to Hoax, Martha Waters' debut novel, is one of the books that has brought me the most joy over the last month. If you're a fan of authors like Tessa Dare because of how humorous and light-hearted their historical romance is, you absolutely MUST get your hands on To Have and to Hoax. This is one of those books that I read with a huge, goofy grin on my face from start to finish. It's a second chance romance, which isn't my favorite romance trope. AND it's based on massive misunderstandings and a lack of communication between the leads, which I usually loathe, but in this book it all works, because it fits their personalities so well. They're charmingly adorable idiots, and I love them so much. Though I read an egalley, I ordered the paperback immediately upon finishing because this beauty belongs on my bookshelves. What books or shows have been bringing you joy during quarantine?

Lichfield. September 9-11. This city feels like a town. I felt like I knew much of the place in just a couple days. I was here for work, but I loved the atmosphere and the buildings almost all in red brick. I also had a perfect custard tart from Bore Street Bakery. #lichfield #england #uk #instatravel #travel #wanderlust #lichfieldcathedral #borestreetbakery

Bristol. September 8. Gorgeous weather, lots of climbing for beautiful vistas and beautiful, colourful homes. Loved it here. #bristol #uk #england #instatravel #travel #wanderlust

Apologies in advance for trip spam. September 7. I spent a couple hours in Cardiff, where I ate lunch and took in the festival atmosphere. #cardiff #wales #instatravel #uk #travel #wanderlust

I haven't posted any book photos in a long time, but here are all the books I've bought in the last few months along with a gift of King of Scars from @mego_42 . I've read and loved all the other books pictured, because for monetary and spacial reasons, I'm no longer allowed to buy books I haven't read yet. Do you guys have policies on when you can buy new books? #bookstagram #instabooks #books #kingofscars #fortunespawn #thekissquotient #iwannabewhereyouare #thevictoriainmyhead #themanicpixiedreamboyimprovementproject #seriousmoonlight #finnikinoftherock #sorceryofthorns #yabooks #romancenovels

This past weekend, I went for a walk with the boyfriend in a local park to celebrate the true beginning of spring. It made me a little sneeze-y, but it was worth it. #nature #walking #pollen #chattahoocheeriver #nofilter

So excited to get a copy of Bloodleaf in the mail! It's so shiny (see the video for evidence) and even came with a pin. Even better I've not stabbed myself with the pin yet! Thanks, @hmhteen ! This is the first ARC I've gotten in a... while, and I'm glad it's one I really want to read. Bloodleaf (which I affectionately am calling Bloodle AF because I can't unsee that) is about a princess who flees her country and goes undercover only to fall for the wrong man. So that's slightly up my alley. 😉 Not sure when I'll be reading it but you can follow along with all my year's reading in my instastory! #bookstagram #instabook #book #bookblogger #yabookstagram #bloodleaf #yafantasy

Mom baked this amazing leaning tower of cake, and I decorated. Clearly, I have a bright future in cake decoration ahead of me! #cakefail #tastesthesame

I voted early here in Georgia, but I'm wearing my sticker today to remind my co-workers to vote. Get out there and make a difference today. #vote
