@re.vis.er HQ : it’s the release party celebration of our vinyl album, “DOLOROSO”

In classical music, Doloroso means “to play with sadness or pain”…and these songs have been borne from the past few years of…well, a lot of sadness in the world. There’s so much that even the most upbeat of these tunes is still “played with sadness”. Sorrow is something that we can all relate to, endure, and exorcise.
. . .
For the past 15 years, I have been lucky enough to write, perform, and release music with some of the best musicians I’ve ever had the privilege of doing so with. The Latenight Callers, Abandoned Bells, Emmaline Twist, Static Phantoms…each band had a collection of songs that was unique to them, to those players. There was never a break between them; as soon as one ended, I was working on the next one, never stopping, the need to create still so great that the sadness of a band ending couldn’t stop me from continuing on….because I just can’t. It’s in my blood. And everything I learned in each of those bands flows into the next; “revising” what I do into the next version, haunted by the past versions, always playing with sadness…

And Saturday’s show will be the celebratory release of all of that; the new album sounds fantastic, and we can’t wait to share it with you, all of you who’ve been on the journey. Especially Dedric and Dawn, who have to deal with my mopey-yet-determined ass.
