My grandparents grew up in the segregated South, yet they never stopped believing America was the land of possibility. They instilled that belief in me from a young age.
Looking at my own journey, it’s remarkable how far our country has come. And despite our challenges, I firmly believe America’s best days are still ahead.
As I shared with the students at United States Military Academy, America is not perfect, but it remains the greatest country in the world because every generation has worked to move it closer to its ideals.
These young men and women are preparing to become the literal guardians of freedom. Their duty will be to defend this nation, and ours must be to never lose sight of America’s promise and continue building the future this country is capable of achieving.

Parties help us organize, but America has always been at its best when we put our values and our common future above partisanship. That’s how we’ve overcome some of our hardest moments and achieved some of our greatest triumphs as a nation.
That’s why we need leadership that brings this country back together by focusing on the real issues families are struggling with: affordability, housing, insurance costs, and energy prices.
Solving those problems is bigger than politics. They will determine what kind of future our children inherit and the future of America.

But if we want to remain the land of the free, we can’t have government policies that punish success and discourage growth.
That’s why Florida is booming, and will continue to. Our laws reflect the fundamental American values of freedom and encourage entrepreneurship, investment, and job creation.
I helped found CARE Elementary over 15 years ago because every child deserves access to a high-quality education and the gift of learning.
Too many kids in this community were being written off as statistics, literacy rates were low, and expectations even lower.
Today, the students at CARE are thriving. They’re curious, thoughtful, exploring AI across industries, and full of confidence, joy, and purpose. Visit the school, and you’ll see what’s possible when we truly invest in our children.
This is the model for success, and it’s what every child in Florida, and across America, deserves.

I had a great conversation with these cadets about leadership and resilience that I hope were insightful as they continue in that legacy.

As part of their studies in government and leadership, I had the privilege of sharing lessons from my own path, serving this country in a different way, by building businesses, creating jobs, and leading through adversity.

our Army at the highest level.
