Eight tracks — and you realize someone has spent the last few years alone with a notebook, a microphone, and their own head. @rdotsoul puts out Still High…, and the first thing that hooks you is that this record sounds like the person behind it genuinely does not care whether anyone hears it. Does not care in the good, rare sense: there is an internal completeness here that is impossible to fake. When an artist writes music for the charts, you can hear it in the seams — in the way a song rushes toward the hook, in the way the beat cranks the volume for a TikTok-ready snippet. Still High… has an entirely different gravity. The record pulls inward, rather than outward. It talks to you, and sometimes falls silent mid-sentence, and the pause works too.

Long post so bear with me lol.
These three EP’s were released in August 2025, January 2026, and April 2026. The first one, A Window to You, was the summation of my trip to Timmins and the completion of my journey there. Written and recorded in a 3 day span, it’s rough around the edges but sincere. It’s a both outward look and a reflective piece of music that tried to look at what externally seemed to be a world in chaos, and an inward look at how I saw myself in it. The EP’s main theme is that art can only reflect, not necessarily save. You may or may not agree but looking at my own relationship with art, I found a lot of it that may have indeed helped in times of need, but the reflection of self and seeing myself in the art I consumed was the major takeaway.
All Roads Lead to Home was my first EP of the year, and marked a bit of a departure sonically from what I usually do. More bombastic, a little bit more confident and assertive, but the usual reflective and introspective nature remained. This EP was essentially the realization that after many detours, many side quests or ventures, I still ended up right where I needed to be when I needed to be. Home. This EP, though not as well received as some of my other projects I’ve released (which is to say instead of 2-3 likes or comments, it got none lol) was something I still felt proud of and wanted to release. The theme was something I felt I needed to have on my catalogue whether it connected or not.
The third and most recent EP is one that I wasn’t really sure about releasing and more than anything was an impulse drop than anything else. Still High… has what I think is some of my most improved technical rapping, but thematically and cohesion-wise it to me feels less than my other EPs or projects. It’s essentially a statement of despite everything, I’m still here, still on this journey even if music isn’t the end goal anymore. I’m still high off the recent wins and travels and that you know, there’s some good that can come out of what was once considered a bad thing. It’s a bit haphazard in nature but I still dig it.

I’ve heard these set of tracks so much my ears have gone numb and deaf to the quality. I can’t say for certain if any of y’all would enjoy this but I kinda want these out there if not for potential enjoyers of my stuff, then just for me haha.
The tracks range in theme, style and substance. I don’t know how cohesive they are as a project, but maybe you’ll add a track or two to your playlists.
Anyways, if you guys see this on streaming this weekend, feel free to check out a couple of the tracks on there. It may or may not be a decent listen but if it isn’t, let a dude live lol.

The first track I’m kinda talking my 💩. Excuse me in advance. The second is on a more sadboy vibe. Might be kind of cringe but it is what it is 🤷♂️.
They’re both available on my #soundcloud but I’m not sure if these will get official releases. Yet to be determined.
When it comes to the music thing generally, I’ve been very casual in my approach these days. A far cry from the days of recording one or two tracks a week. More like one or two tracks every month or two. But you know, I’m kinda digging this more relaxed approach and output. Some cool tracks have come out of it and I also no longer feel the need to prove anything or seek some sort of external target. It really has been just something I can do when I need it and to keep the fields green and the skies blue if you catch my meaning.
Anyways, that’s it for the long-winded spiel. Hope you guys enjoy these snippets and check out the recent releases on streaming if you’re so inclined. Still High, Perseverance, and In Need (of Healing) are some of my favorite tracks I’ve recorded in a while. Especially Still High.
